When your parents were kits they were good friends. But I knew Cottontail felt more. There was another kit, Dreamkit, at the time. Bumblehive would flirt with her and Cottontail would be jealous, like he knew she would. When Cottontail told him how she felt he said he didn't want to be in a relationship just yet. She got upset and ran off into the forest, where she ran into Shadowpaw, who'd already become an apprentice. She told him what happened and he got angry, wanting to protect her and get back at Bumblehive for hurting her. But she didn't want him to. She loved him no matter if he didn't want to be in love with her just yet. -Nightstar

So Shadowpaw tried going to Suntooth, who was also an apprentice at the time, because they were cousins. *looks at Hushpaw* You ever got to meet Thornclaw. He was my brother and he died in a battle. But, Suntooth was his son so Shadowpaw conviced him into helping get back to Bumblehive. When Suntooth found out that after Cottontail had returned Bumblehive told her he loved her and they were happy he tried to explain to Shadowpaw that they shouldn't bother them. They ended up fighting and Cottontail soon join in. Reedpaw, the girl Shadowpaw loved, heard Cottontail say that Shadowpaw'd been planning on hurting Bumblehive and she told him that she didn't love him. Shadowpaw blamed Cottontail for it. Ever since that he'd had it in for her. *sighs* I just can't believe I didn't see it. I didn't want to think that anyone else could go wrong with the family. And one day Shadowpaw made his move on Cottontail. He also had her too, but Reedpaw killed him. *shakes head* I stood beside him, watching him die, and I couldn't do anything to help him. -Nightstar

Well she was the root cause of your mother's stress. Cottontail knew something was off with Bumblehive. And when you and her went off after him and found him with that other she-cat, *winces slightly* that was when she just lost it. All the composure and calmness and patience and sweetness she'd had and given to your father finally came down and let the flood gates open. She finally let out all of her anger, frustration, stress, and thoughts come out. Breezewing I'm sure you've seen how controling your father is. How he limits your mother's every move and makes her decisions. Maybe you've seen it, too, Hushpaw. -Nightstar
