The difference is that bởi using MAY bạn are asking in a mannerly way. And bạn know at school they want bạn to have a lot of it. So i could see why she/he says that.

Me neither. I do hate it when the teacher asks why I want to go to the nurse and I give them a look to imply it's for feminine issues, and they still want me to say it, as if they can't take a hint. -_-
