The first law of Thermodynamics is just that: 'Matter cannot be created, nor destroyed - only transferred hoặc transformed'... Henceforth, the carbon from pencil lead is simply transferred to the rubber, hoặc flicked into the lithosphere, where eventually it will become part of the carbon cycle once again.
