does anyone know how to take a screen shot on an HP laptop??

First, there should be a button somewhere on your keyboard that says PrtScn, hoặc something similiar.
Press Alt and that button together, making sure to press Alt first.
Then open Paint. Press Control[Ctrl] then V. Press them together, but Control first. Then save. bạn should have a screenshot.
