Let's pretend bạn saw a t-shirt worth 97 cents at a store. Since bạn don't have any cash along with you, bạn borrowed 50 cents from your mom and 50 cents from your dad as well. So now bạn have $1. bạn bought the áo sơ mi and received a change of 3 cents. bạn returned 1c to your mom, 1c to your dad and bạn kept the remaining 1c.

So now bạn owe them 49c each.Here's the question:

49c + 49c = 98c is the total of how much bạn owe them, plus the 1 cent that bạn kept = 99c.

It was supposed to be $1. Where's the missing penny?
