Seriously, are people that desperate?

People are begging other people to be his/her fan. What's the point? Is it embarrassment that bạn only have a few? Is it a popularity contest? I don't know bạn tell me, but I do know people are laughing(or maybe it's just me) when asked though much thêm irritated?
