But yes, i would have thought it was pronounced pawned aswell, like as in Chess when bạn get took of the board? I'm so clueless lol!

I am australian and we use pawned. I think that it is refering to chess. Like getting beat. Not really sure becauseI don't use it but that is how my friend says it.

I didn't know so many people didn't know what it meant hoặc how it is pronounced. Guess that's because I'm American...

bạn don't say pwned? One of my best Những người bạn here, Mrs-Grint, is British and she says it all the time... But the again, it might be from talking to Americans too much XD

I thought it was 'pawned' but most British and Americans do pronounce things differently, like in Britain most of us say 'Tomato' as "Tomarto" and if I've watched enough American TV, they pronounce it as "Tomaito"? :) ♥
