I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Pretty Little Liars: Our hàng đầu, đầu trang suspects for Charlotte's murderer and 'A' | EW.com
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
, there are two big mysteries looming over Rosewood: Who killled Charlotte DiLaurentis? And who is the new “A”? So in honor of the season’s final hour, EW’s Isabella Biedenharn and Sam Highfill have paired up to narrow down their top suspects for both of the main mysteries. See their logic below:
Sam: This one seems simple: Is Melissa capable of murder? Yes, she once BURIED SOMEONE ALIVE. Sure, she didn’t know she was killing someone, but she did know that she was hiding a body. So yeah, she’s willing to go to some crazy lengths for the ones she loves. And if you’re willing to bury a body to protect your sister, I’d say you’re willing to kill someone who tortured your sister — and didn’t exactly make your life easy — for years.
Isabella: And let’s not forget that Charlotte didn’t just torture Spencer — that flashback we saw between Hanna and Melissa in London told us that Charlotte was stalking Melissa, too. Plus, I believe Melissa’s exact words regarding Charlotte were, “Someone needs to shut her up for good.” Doesn’t sound innocent to me, if you know what I mean.
to introduce a new character just to make him the bad guy? He definitely seems like he loves Ali, but that’s what makes him look so guilty: Charlotte didn’t want them together, so what’s the easiest way around that obstacle? A little whack and a nudge off the bell tower, obviously. People have done crazier things for love …
for Rollins to be revealed as the bad guy and only THEN have it be revealed that he actually has some long-standing connection to Rosewood. And yet, I think this is our least likely option. I get that Charlotte could’ve stood in the way of his relationship with Ali, but I just haven’t seen any anger issues with this guy. Could they still be there? Of course. But I’d be surprised, and a little bummed, if he were our killer.
Sam: Oh, Mona. At this point, she’s always going to be a suspect for everything ever. Sorry, that’s what you get for being Original “A.” Also, I don’t trust anyone who comes back from the dead. But looking specifically at this situation, we know that Mona has very violent tendencies, and we also know that Charlotte tortured Mona and forced her to live in a bunker. How great would it be if Mona killed Charlotte and then took over the “A” game AGAIN?!
Isabella: Agreed — it WOULD be great, and it would almost be unexpected because it’s so … expected? I do feel like Mona is trying to be honest these days, so that makes me think it wouldn’t be her. Then again, I’m with you about her violent tendencies. This is a girl who tried to run over her best (only?) friend with a car, so would it be that surprising if she ran over someone who tortured her? Probably not.
Isabella: This one is obvious, right? Girl is sketchy as hell, clearly hatching some scheme by lurking around the empty hallways of old Radley and staying in Charlotte’s old room. Not to mention Charlotte kept her locked in the dollhouse for years. I’d be more surprised if Sara didn’t have anything to do with the murder. And, for the record, I think her hands work just fine.
Sam: AGREE on the hands. I think she just really likes wearing gloves, personally. But yes, Sara is the obvious choice, which is why I hope the show doesn’t go this direction.
Sam: Let me start by saying I never, ever want Ezra to be bad. I love him. I’m a huge Ezria shipper. I’m Team Ezra, okay? However, we can’t ignore the fact that he saw Charlotte go into the church on the night she died … and he was pretty pissed at her at the time. This show has already made him bad once, and they quickly backtracked, so I can’t imagine they’re going to go there again. (And I hope they don’t.)
Isabella: Ezra already has “stalker” and probably “statutory rapist” on his résumé, so I can’t imagine he’d add “murderer,” but you’re right: He was mad, plus he’s pretty overwhelmed by a toxic cocktail of guilt and grief since his hot, Australian girlfriend went missing. If that molted into a blind rage, I think he could be capable of something disastrous. But I think it’s more likely that he just went somewhere and got drunk alone.
Isabella: When they’re around, Rosewood parents are just as mysterious and sneaky as their daughters, and even more willing to take a walk on the dark side. (Ashley Marin, I’m looking at you — and I love you for it.) Every one of these people — Ashley, Byron, Veronica — has a motive for murder, since Charlotte made their daughters’ lives hell for years. Not to mention their own. But there’s a part of me that can’t help thinking of Mr. DiLaurentis. He always had a problem with Charles /Charlotte, and given the strains of crazy that run in that family … Man, I’m getting a shiver just thinking about him.
Sam: Seconded. I think every parent, and I mean EVERY parent in this town is sketchy. Mr. Hastings, I’m looking at you. And then there’s the fact that Ashley Marin has A LOT of access now that she’s running the Radley Hotel, which just so happens to be the place where everything seems to be going down. Or, as you mentioned, you can go with the apple-doesn’t-fall-far-from-the-tree logic and stick with Mr. D.
Sam: Basically I feel like we can repeat what we said above. Sara HAS to be on the suspect list because at this point, she’s so shady she’s practically a shadow. (Like what I did there?) But in the end, having Sara be the answer to any of these questions would be a major letdown, in my opinion.
Isabella: HA! She definitely lurks like a shadow (when she’s not glaring at Emily from every possible location in Rosewood). Like we’ve said, the Liars think “A” is Sara Harvey, so that’s probably a guarantee that it isn’t. Unless she has those special gloves you can text through.
Isabella: It probably won’t be true, but wouldn’t it be fun if this “A” actually was Ali, like they all thought in season 1? It’s not totally impossible: She wants to know who killed her sister more than anyone, except maybe Detective Tanner. But then again, it would be a lot of effort to send herself that creepy card in the hospital — and pretty painful to throw yourself down the stairs, right?
Sam: Well wait, let’s consider that she wasn’t thrown down the stairs but rather tripped on her stiletto, which she’s more than used to wearing! It easily could’ve been her attempt to make herself look like a victim. I’m all for it: Ali is A! And an even better twist: Emily is her accomplice.
Sam: WHERE IS JASON AND WHAT DOES HIS HAIR LOOK LIKE? Because I would love for him to be the new “A.” Not only is he a DiLaurentis — which means he has a history with everyone — but he’s always been super sketchy, coming in and out of Rosewood whenever he pleases. Sure, it’d suck for Ali if her sister and her brother were the two big bads of her life, but with her parents, would it really be that surprising?
Isabella: I miss that beautiful face! And I’m with you — I wouldn’t be totally shocked if these apples didn’t fall far from their utterly creepy trees. I also think the fact that he hasn’t been around this season makes him seem even guiltier: What would be more
than having the guilty party be someone we haven’t thought about in months?
Sam: Confession: I’ve thought about him.
Isabella: This was your idea, Sam, but I’m all for it. While the show didn’t stick to the original “twin theory” — of “A” and Ali being twins, the idea of Mrs. D having a twin would be an interesting way to bring that back around. Did we ever actually see the Aunt Carol who housed Charlotte for years? And, aside from the twins who visited Hanna Marin that Halloween, generally Rosewood’s ghost sightings are actually real people. So who was it that visited Ali in the hospital, hmm? I’m inclined to think there’s someone we haven’t met yet.
Sam: I would love this. Wouldn’t Aunt Carol want to know who killed Charlotte?? YES. Or maybe Aunt Carol is the one in the grave and the real Mrs. D is still roaming around. Either way, I am in.
Sam: I don’t trust anyone who’s that nice, not to mention that this show has got to get Spencer and Toby back together at some point, right? And what better way to do that than to make Toby’s new girlfriend super evil? It’s a simple theory, but it’s one I support.
Isabella: Agreed. She’s too good to be true, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was somehow connected to Charlotte from way back: Maybe they were hospital roommates at one point? Right now there’s nothing not to like with Yvonne. And she does seem like someone who might unironically use a few too many emojis, right?
Sam: What’s her favorite? I’m thinking nail polish.
Isabella: I would have thought Customer Service Person, a.k.a. the one we all use as hair flip. (Did you know it’s actually a customer service representative?!)
Sam: This post was worth it if only for me to learn that bit of information.
