I think hugging and talking are the most intimate things a person can do. You can kiss and have sex with someone without really becoming intimate with them, but a hug is always intimate because it's usually done when you care about them.

I agree with NikaDawson but cuddling up in bed with someone to me means that you trust them and care about them enough to want them to stick around and be with you. Because so much of your bodies are touching (whether in pjs or not) it isnt something that i would even consider doing if i wasnt in a relationship with a guy.

i think all of them can be intimate, and all of them you can be completley distant with someone to do, it depends
you may lay together in bed after having sex though and not be intimate

I answer this interpreting "intimate" to mean emotional intimacy (rather than, say, intellectual intimacy). All of these are good ways of being intimate, because touch between people is needed for human emotional health and development. Sex incorporates both emotional and physical intimacy. Even if you don't "have feelings" for a sex partner, you reveal a private part of yourself to that person in having sex. In addition, your body produces hormones in sex that provoke an emotional response. If they aren't expressed as lovey-dovey feelings, I've seen that they will out in some other form, such as irritability, resentment, impatience, overblown sense of self-importance, jealousy, or depression, to name a few.

harold, i know your really smart, but can you think a little less? you go at everything in such a scientific and technical way that it, well, doesn't confuse me, i'm sure your vocabulary includes the word im looking for, me, and i'm at least of average intelligence (i'm very smart for my age but i'm not sure how smart out of all ages, although i'd say a little more intelligent then normal).

I think that a hug can be intimate as well but it can mean different things to different poeple, i think a cuddle in bed can be very intimate, and i mean when you let someone cuddle you in bed you have got to be close, and like debs said you can have sex and still not be close to a person.

Kissing can be seen as more than one thing!!! Love or friendship or even evilness!

Learning personal information about someone is a seriously delicate thing, and subsequently intimate. Why it's definately the most intimate is because there are so many types of talking, ranging from deep, intimate conversations to mindless smalltalk. The intimacy is breaking the barriers between them. Sex isn't exactly charactor defining. Well, not really :)
