My latest pick pet peeve is not opinionated picks. They have been popping up frequently and are beginning to irk me almost as much as repeat picks. In case bạn don't know what I am talking about, not opinionated picks are picks that ask các câu hỏi to which there is only one answer. These can range from inquiring when the tiếp theo episode of a hiển thị in airing to asking what the full name of a character is.

I assume that the people who create these picks just don't understand the purpose of a pick. Picks are not trivia các câu hỏi nor are they a way to ask for factual information. If bạn wish to know when a new episode airs, I suggest posting it as a forum.

I'm sorry if this was at all offensive, but I figured that nghề viết văn a soapbox was easier than giving the same spiel to every tác giả of a not opinionated pick.

Also, I am trying to think of a better name for this variety of picks rather than 'not opinionated picks'. Catchy names were never my forte.

maybeastarbucks Good point. Also, along the same lines, don't make picks where two options are the same.

amazondebs erm hmmm a name, a name, a name erm fact pick? known picks? none opinion pole picks? i think it's hard one to come up with but yes i know exactley what you mean, or one's asking you to leave comments, like leave the number your comments in or introduce yourself isn't that what forum are for too?

ineedcoffee oh my this has been bugging me too, but I didn't know how to address it, like such and such give the answer in comments grrr.

HannaK Yeah, I also really don't like picks as: Can someone explain this? I always think: post it on a forum or send a message to someone who know the answer!

chel1395 I like to call them "I'm A Little Confused" picks. Because that's how the person must be feeling. Like, they don't know where they are or what they're doing and then they make this stupid pick, and boom, they run into a wall!

adavila Im guilty of that but I put some of this stuff in picks because no one ever reads my forums *sad*. Also I didnt know this bother people that much. So from this day on I shall not put "useless picks" like the census or the how to put picks in banners or I did another spot thanks for letting me know that this was so annoying (If I only had pay more attention to hooch is crazy)

Saul_Mikoliunas This also drives me insane!! I mean they are on a computer, therefore they have access to google, therefore they can find out the friggin answer by searching on google!!...........Now that is out I am back to being lovely and chilled :)

solsis I tottally agree I hate that! I especially hate when people make "opinionated picks" but only put one side of the argument in different words. Like for example asking what do you think of someone/something and posting answers like: I love it, I like it a lot, Im in love with it... and not even allowing people to add answers! ugh that really annoys me!

tyleroffice4 I have done one of these and people like hated me for that. Also I have a good name for it: N.O.P. Not Opinionated Picks!

Adding Picks and Options

As amazondebs đã đưa ý kiến before, the "all" option can get annoying at times, but it's okay to add it if bạn are actually losing your mind trying to choose.

But if there is a choice missing that really should be there, even if bạn aren't going to pick it, bạn should add it anyways. i. e., "Who's your yêu thích office character?" If the "Kelly" option is missing, even if bạn like Jim, add Kelly anyways. bạn don't have to pick Kelly.

And something else pointed out in Deb's forum, combination options can be annoying too. If bạn can't decide between Jim and Pam, choose one randomly and say in the comments...
