I'm not a big Keira fan, but she was so perfect as Lizzie.

Chel, I know that you like Jennifer Ehle so I'm surprised that you liked Keira as Elizabeth. By the end of the film, she grew on me but Jennifer WAS Lizzie from the start! I can imagine her as Eliza Doolitle though, so then maybe I'll change my answer then!

I didn't like her that much as Lizzie, and I haven't seen Atonment or Oliver Twist.

I wasn't keen on her as Lizzie, and Guinevere well that was horrid, but I loved her as Cecilia. Her best role to date imo.

Personally I love Jennifer Ehle as Lizzie but out of her period roles (including the Duchess), I have to go with Keira as our Lizzie. I feel she completely inhabited the role and was able to make the smallest glances and simpliest smiles play with my heartstrings.

I love Atonement and Pride&Prejudice, I think she was brilliant at both roles, but I prefer the Character Lizzie...anyway Lizzie and Cecilai are practically tied

But my answer will probably change when I finally see "The Edge of Love"...God, I'm dying to see it coming out in Italy

I love her as Elizabeth Bennet the most, but as a very close second would have to go to Guinevere in King Arthur.

I love Atonement and Pride & Prejudice too though!

I have not yet seen Atonement, and none of the rest of the films compete. She was wonderful as Elizabeth.
