Finding a Way to Unwind
Later that day, I was walking down the đường phố, street with Allen. He did most of the talking. I mostly listened. He then said, "John, you're a little quiet. What's wrong?" I said, "Nothing." He said, "I know something's wrong." I told him about my nightmare and how it forced me to get up early. Allen said, "That's a terrible nightmare." I said, "I tell myself that I'm fine, but I'm not sure if I am." He said, "You're obviously traumatized from almost being killed." I said, "Yeah." He said, "You know what bạn need, a way to relax. Have bạn ever tried camping?" I said, "No." He said, "Maybe bạn would enjoy it." With permission from Allen's parents and my uncle, we went camping. There's something about being connected to nature. The forest seemed so surreal and dreamlike, especially in the morning. It made me want to write a song. I grabbed my pen and my notebook and began to write. I never went anywhere without those things and my guitar, except to school. Allen asked, "What are bạn writing?" I said, "A song." He said, "Cool. I've played songs, but I've never written one." I said, "It's easy, really. bạn just have to find some inspiration and let the âm nhạc come to you." He grabbed his đàn ghi ta, guitar and said, "I'd like to write a song with you. May I?" I said, "Sure. Nobody's ever offered to write a song with me." We wrote a song called "Mountain Dream." We were really impressed with how the song turned out. After we returned from our trip, we introduced the song to Uncle Bob. He said, "That's impressive. There's a lot of imagery in the song." I knew that my father always wanted me to go to college, but after that, I knew what I wanted to do. I told Uncle Bob that I decided not to go to college. I said, "I'd rather focus on making music. nghề viết văn 'Mountain Dream' with Allen is the happiest I've been since Beatle was alive." Uncle Bob said, "Well, it's your decision whether hoặc not bạn go to college." I said, "Thanks, Uncle Bob."
