KISS frontmen Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley hosted local veterans and military members for lunch at the Oviedo location of their restaurant, Rock & Brews on Aug. 9.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers presented Fisher House Orlando with a $7,500 check.

The nonprofit is raising money to support a currently under construction Fisher House at the new Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona. The building will provide free housing for families of veterans and military members receiving medical care at the medical center.

Simmons and Stanley also planned to hold a fundraiser for Fisher House Orlando at their newest restaurant in the Lee Vista Promenade in Orlando later on Aug. 9.

Simmons and Stanley, whose hard-rock group is known for such hits as “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City,” branched out to the restaurant industry in 2012.

The rockers, along with their business partners, opened their first Rock & Brews opened in southern California. After each of their restaurant openings, Simmons and Stanley host a special event for veterans and a donation is made to a local veterans-focused nonprofit.

“We pay tribute to the people who make this whole thing possible,” Stanley said in a previous interview.

Rock & Brews is known for its American cuisine, lengthy craft beer menu and rockin’atmosphere. Each restaurant features a number of classic rock favorites through artwork and music videos.

The brand will have 30 outposts by the end of this year.

Simmons and Stanley hope to have at least five total restaurants in Central Florida.
