THIS photo of Outlander author Diana Gabaldon giving the show’s star Sam Heughan a peak on the lips sent fans into meltdown.

However, the author has explained the circumstances behind the snap.

The pair had just enjoyed a successful Q&A session at RingCon 2015 in Germany.

And Diana, who will be the envy of a lot of fans, revealed the hunky Scot wasn\'t the only Outlander actor to receive a cheeky kiss.

Stars from the hit show, Sam, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis and Duncan Lacroix, joined Diana on the panel at the event in Germany.

The Outlander favourites, along with cast members from Game Of Thrones, signed autographs and interacted with the delighted fans who attended.

RingCon organisers had previously admitted they were finding it difficult to motivate fans of different shows to buy tickets for the event.

However, thanks to the big names in attendance, the weekend was a roaring success.
