In the first episodes he was such a jerk and worse than Lucas but he changed SO MUCH and now Lucas is the one who has to change and Nathan is such a great father and husband! Brooke has improved too!

from s1 jackass to s5 great guy...i'd say he cleaned up his act pretty damn good

yahhh i like hated him from season 1 now i love him!

In the beginning of season 1 Nathan was a complete jackass, now look at him! But, he's still trying to find his way, like ALL of the characters.
Lucas? Please! He's just gotten WORSE through the seasons.
Haley was always great :]
Peyton hasn't changed much... she's learned from her mistakes but I don't think that she needed that much improvement.
But Brooke... Brooke went from COMPLETE BITCHY SLUT, DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT ME in the beginning of season 1 to amazing, beautiful, successful, intelligent, careful, loving, great friend in the end of season 5 :]
Over the years she has learned a lot, matured, and grown into a great person. :-D

But 1treehillfan i feel Brooke already had SOME good qualities like when Peyton tells Luke how much Brooke took care of her after her mother died and like when that guy drugs Peyton.

Nathan however was just a jackass to everyone: he was HORRIBLE to Lucas, a COMPLETE jackass to Peyton - who he screwed around ALOT, hell in the beginning he only went out with Haley to get back at Lucas, he was never that nice to Brooke either and was just generally an all around horrible person.

NOW he is amazing he is SO sweet and understanding (especially with Haley!) loving and just a really nice guy like completely the opposite of what he was when we first met him =]

sg1-090, yea, Nathan has DEFINATELY improved alot. Totally agree.
But, when I said "beginning of season 1" I meant eppys 1-7. Episode 8 is when I started to see the light :]

Brooke has grown the most of all the characters.
