In news more shocking than that time Liam Payne and Sophia Smith broke up (we\'re keeping the Sophiam dream alive), One Direction\'s \'Take Me Home\' has been revealed as the most traded-in item on Music Magpie this Christmas.

What kind of world do we LIVE IN for god\'s sake. 

Music Magpie is a website that pays cash money for unwanted CDs and DVDs (*casts speculative glance at dad\'s mammoth Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi collection*), and they reckon that 1D\'s 2012 album \'Take Me Home\' was their most received item between Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year, after they were sent 31, 468 copies of the record. 

A) One could argue that there are a LOT more copies of TMH floating about compared to pretty much anything else because they sold a gazillion and also it\'s arguably the best 1D album. No it is though and you can\'t even disagree. 

B) Errr, there\'s this thing called iTunes. And Spotify. Perhaps actual physical space was needed for newer albums like Made In The A.M. 

Oh, and as if you need any more proof that this doesn\'t mean anything bad - Adele\'s \'21\' was the second most unwanted album with 25,897 trade-ins - the album that was also voted best EVER in the history of the world by Billboard. 

Music Magpie marketing director Liam Howley commented: "Our CD and DVD trade-ins are always a good barometer of what or who is waning in popularity and this year\'s trade-in figures make for quite interesting reading, particularly for One Direction.

"Perhaps their tumultuous year has had more of an impact on their popularity than first thought? Have some of the early fans moved on? I guess time will tell when, or if, they make another album together."
