Nala was supposed to have a little brother name Mheetu created bởi Linda Woolverton specifically so Nala, his older sister, could protect him from the deadly clutches of Scar hoặc his hyenas. He was cut out of the film because of time constraints and the idea was dropped because Woolverton felt that, after Mufasa's death, the film had gotten too dark. Also, she didn't know how to go about animating a concentration camp, thus this idea was dropped and they decided to focus of Simba and his new Những người bạn instead of Nala and her brother.

After a few months. Nala began to grow to a teen. She woken up. and rushed out of the cave to begin her first hunt. Sarafina looked at her daughter and asked. "Are bạn alright nala? That's the first time I've ever seen bạn run out of the cave that fast." Nala responded to her mother. "Yes I'm fine. just a bit excited for my first hunt." She grinned. Simba then popped into nala's mind. "I miss simba.." Sarafina padded infront of nala questionly asking her. "Nala. bạn look sorrowed. Is everything alright. I want my daughter to be ready for her first hunt." Nala responds and yells at her mom. "No mother! I mean.. Yes. I'm fine." Sarafina smiled and looked at her daughter. "I knew that the whole time." She then looked at nala's father. Nala's father nudged her. He then stopped nudging and nodded. "Go," Nala ran away from pride rock ready to go for her first hunt. Nala found some high grass. And she saw a water hole full of buffalos. She maked her moved and crouched in the tall grass.
