I think Alicorn OCs are fine, IF used in a Fanfiction/AU.
But I think people need to chose màu sắc and styles wisely when making a OC, not randomly.

You're not the only one, but Alicorns are OK, if bạn give an explanation of just how they came to be alicorns. I'm not trying to make bạn feel bad with the picture.

Okay, I'm trying my hardest not to take the alicorn bình luận personally, because of my OC, Silversheen. Anyhoo, I think it's okay to have any kind of OC if there's a good story and personality behind them. If there's not, then I agree with you-what's the point? When I make my OCs, I try to just find a style that seems to work for them.

Well, bad OCs don't really piss me off. I just do a face-hoof when I come across a really bad one and di chuyển on. When making a good OC, I think it is very important not to wander too far from the original canon. I mean, when I came up with my OCs, I tried to make their appearance unique, but not so extravagant, so they wouldn't stick out from a crowd of background ponies so much. An original background story can also be helpful and I found that participating in some RPs helps to get in touch with your character and form its personality. I don't really like alicorn OCs, cos they often placed in the center of attention, possessing thêm magic and wisdom than Celestia herself, they are omnipotent, all-knowing, invincible and probably doing something that Equestria wouldn't survive without, but they usually lack a creative backstory and their personality is shallow and flat.

Of course I mean no offense to those who have alicorn OC's, there are numerous good examples as well. My yêu thích one is Faith, from the fanfic Faiths and Doubts, he's an excellent and unique character in a fantastic, slightly darker story.

yeah...i know what bạn mean...i just get a slight headache whenever i saw OC's with ngẫu nhiên color palettes that doesnt even go well with each other...oh! and about that alicorn thing...honestly i think of them equally,i mean Celestia is an alicorn but the ones saving the world were the mane 6,a group of unicorns,earth ponies and pegasi (before Twilicorn) but if those alicorn OC's have to hiển thị off their 'powerful' nature,i get really annoyed,but nonetheless i hesitantly made 3 alicorn OC's (not randomly designed)

Yeah, sometimes I can get pissed when I see and alicorn OC hoặc an OC that has ngẫu nhiên màu sắc put together that don't fit with eachother. I'll deal with alicorns if they have a backstory as to why. But if it just looks like a bad OC, no.

Karina, i agree, its ironic how my oc is an allicorn though he was originally going to be a pegasus but to some stuff he became an alicorn and if bạn make and alicorn oc, bạn must have a backstory, I did have those but then my old account got deleted and well all my người hâm mộ fics of ngọn lửa, chữa cháy dash were erased :( anyway i agree

I hiiiiiighly suggest we just follow this guide for making OCs. I use it whenever I make a new OC, and others on DA like them a lot.


Like this guide says, alicorns should only be royalty. And from another land other then Equestria. And if it isn't, then it's basically a Mary-Sue. They should also have a really reasonable and developed backstory and a good personality as well. And I hate when people add accessories to their OC unless it's part of their talent hoặc whatever (i.e. rollerskates if their special talent is rollerskating).
