"Hurry up, Riley!" fourteen-year-old Chloe Carlson called to her sister. "I need to do my hair." "I'll be out in a second!" Riley called back from the bathroom. Chloe kept staring intently out the window of the bedroom she shared with Riley. Left was the street. Right was the beach. She gave each view a three-second scan. Pavement on the left. Sand on the right. Nobody in sight.

The bathroom door opened, and Chloe's twin sister came into the bedroom. Riley's shoulder-length blond hair was wet at the moment. Chloe's longer blond hair was covered with soft curlers. "Here I am," Riley announced, wrapping a towel around her head. "How's the boywatch going?" "No one so far," Chloe replied.
