2017–present: Story Op.2

On March 9, 2017, MBC confirmed that Jonghyun would leave their position as DJ at FM4U's 'Jonghyun's Blue Night'. The decision came after a lengthy discussion between Jonghyun and the show's staff, who stated, "It's disappointing, but because of SHINee's Japanese and North American tour they're about to start, he decided to leave."[33] Jonghyun began DJing for 'Blue Night' on February 3, 2014, and celebrated his third birthday with the broadcast on February 3, 2017. The MBC team also added: "Jonghyun loves radios more than He has a great responsibility that has never complained about tiredness for the last 3 years, and said that 'radio helps him to de-stress'. We believe he will go back to radio broadcasts in the future and that he is leaving temporarily in order to devote himself to his singing career. "Jonghyun's final broadcast took place on April 2.[34] He will release his second compilation album, titled Story Op.2, on April 24, 2017.[35]
