I am dying to hear some comfirmation about an up and coming Resident Evil movie with Jensen taking the role of Leon... does anyone know if this is thêm then just a cruel rumor?

As bạn can see his role is still 'Rumored'. The movie isn't coming out untill at least 2010, so there is a lot of times in which things can chance. So I don't think bạn can know for sure right now, but check sites as imdb regurly and I'm sure someday bạn will.

imdb says it's coming out in 2009. Jensen Ackles name is not in the danh sách of cast.
