Oops, maybe the tiêu đề is a lil dramatic but once I found this spot I felt the need to write my first soapbox article, because as much as I tình yêu the other things I am a người hâm mộ of on Fanpop, Jeff Buckley is what I am passionate about.
I discovered Jeff Buckley in my teenage years, around 14, when âm nhạc was the most important thing in my life, and Jeff's âm nhạc just served to enhance that tình yêu even further. I cant't describe how I felt when I learned that Jeff Buckley had passed away and the feeling that I would never see him play live was just so disapointing. I have been lucky enough to see most of my yêu thích artists who have really affected my life play live (with the exception of the Beatles, (obviously) and the Smashing Pumpkins) and it still plays on my mind that I will never hear Jeff's amazing voice in person....
His voice, and his lyrics are still the most amazing that I have come across in my 21 years, and even though I know all of his songs like the back of my hand, his voice and the passion of his lyrics still affect me every time I hear them.
It was my mission, once I discovered Jeff, through an older friend, to make sure that all of my Những người bạn knew who he was, and I converted most of them to the amazing talent of Jeff Buckley!
Hopefully thêm people will tham gia this spot and maybe people who have only heard of Jeff will become thêm interested in hearing his âm nhạc and learning about what an amazing artist he was. It is such a tragedy that Jeff isn't still here to enjoy the career he should have had. But since he can't do it, I feel like it is up to his những người hâm mộ to make sure that his legacy is not forgotten and that his âm nhạc never goes unnoticed, because to not know Jeff Buckley's music, voice and words is to seriously miss out.
I would recommend đọc David Brown's book, Dream Brother, about the lives of Jeff and Tim Buckley. It's such a great book for Jeff fans, and really explains alot about Jeff's âm nhạc and the way he was. I found out about Jeff too late, that's what got to me. The part in the book that most upset me the first time I read it was not the mô tả of Jeff's death (that really hit me the một giây time I read it) but the mention of Oasis releasing their first album around the same time as Jeff. That really struck me because I remember Oasis from the start, I wasn't as young as I thought I was. And then it hit me that Jeff was alive and producing âm nhạc that I didn't know about and that I missed on at the time.
I'm so glad I found out about Jeff and his music, because if I didn't I would have been missing out on so mcuh. Jeff has helped me, his songs, his voice, his music, his words, they have all helped me, and I know I'm not the only one.
Some of this bài viết I have taken from my old diaries from when I had just turned 15, and I never thought I would share them with anyone else, but I think Jeff deserves to be talked about, and if this bài viết is too personal hoặc too rambling then I'm sorry, but I can't be sorry for expressing what a difference Jeff Buckley has made to my life, and the lives of others.
To quote Jeff: It's never over....
