OK,
so first of all, I must say.
I did not expect that....
I mean, sure, I read all the spoilers *shifty eyes* but I didn't expect some things.
However, this bài viết isn't gonna be about the episode at all...

[SPOILERS for those who haven't watched it yet]

First of all,
House and Cuddy in this episode are completely the same.
Yes, bạn read well, THE SAME.
Both are trying to be something they're not, and failing at it.
First House.
He's trying to prove to Cuddy that he's changed.
Sure, we see that slight change, but, it isn't that major that we can consider him a whole different persona.

First, House is diễn xuất like he always would.
Let's see what things he's done that are 'the old House' like:

Trying to break Duddy apart- check
Pretending to be drunk- check
Pretending to enjoy clinic duty- check
Paying people to act like he was nice- check
Pretending to have no idea what he đã đưa ý kiến to Lucas: check

And then, 'the new House' moment:

actually going to the Thanksgiving bữa tối, bữa ăn tối (even though he had a motive): check
asking Cuddy out: check
buying tickets for Rachel: check

However, the 'new House' moments aren't completely without 'old House's ' motives
He wanted to go to the TG bữa tối, bữa ăn tối cause it was a part of breaking Duddy apart plan.
And he bought the tickets cause he wanted to see if Duddy really broke up .

The only moment I'd consider a 'new House' like is the one asking Cuddy out.
He's actually putting himself out there.

Ok, now, Cuddy
What would 'the old' (nonexistent) Cuddy do from this:

Would she trick House? yes
Would she go to House telling him the opposite of what she means: yes
Would she hide (that she's still with Lucas) from House? yes
Would she look guilty while doing this all? yes

So, we see, there is really no new Cuddy.
and there is really no new House, well, not completely.
The only thing that changed, is the situation the two are in.

House never needed to fight for 'what's his', sure, Stacy was with Mark, but she wanted to be with House, she came to him.
Cuddy, well... Right now, Cuddy can't picture herself with House. Not when she has Rachel.
And even though she clearly loves him (rolls eyes), she doesn't want to be with him.

And Lucas... Well, Lucas clearly sees that Cuddy still 'cares' for House. I don't think he'd want to break up just because House đã đưa ý kiến he was wrong for her and that HE loves her.

And I bet Cuddy reassured Lucas that she doesn't want to be with House.
And she reassured House that as well.
What she was clearly doing was reassuring herself.
Cause she's the one who wants to change, but she can't.

And now that she's figured it out, she's trying to seem like she has changed (telling House she's tired of games).
For House's sake.
Cause, if he finds out that she hasn't changed, he's gonna want to be with her, and he's gonna push it.
Because she doesn't want to be with him, she pretends she's changed and doesn't want to hurt his feelings.

We really need to wait, that's all we can do.
Cause it's just a matter of time when House and Cuddy will get together (I think bởi the end of s6 :P)
until then, we have to 'enjoy' watching Cuddy try to 'change' and House be there to see it all, and of course act on it.

It's gonna be a fun, FUN ride...

Belle0308 Great article!! The part that got me the most was her looking guilty. Also, she looked totally like she was questioning herself. I don't get all the fuss over how Huddy is dead because I thought that was a VERY Huddy episode last night. Besides that it most importantly shows the characters of Cuddy and House in all their glorious complexity.

teresaB_ I think so too Belle0308. All in all it's about huddy. that duddy thing is what house needed to come clear with his feelings towards cuddy. Good job hilly :) i agree, we have to lean back and watch the show ;)

playingcold Nice article! It's great that you're optimistic :) I watched the episode this morning. I think I'm losing my patience. I really love Huddy but I'm getting tired that they are running in circles. I want to be optimistic but I just can't. Maybe I need a good night's sleep :)

Delia_Beatrice Thank you for this review, it really put things in a different light for me. I mean, this episode didn't leave me in tears or throwing things at the screen (like other eps have:)))), but i wasn't exactly giddy about it either. More like playingcold felt. But your article really made me feel a bit more optimistic about it. You are right in many many ways. However, i do have some very dark concerns about the future. The writers are taking a VERY slippery slope here. Non-Huddy fans are FED UP with this running around in circles. Even those who had nothing against Huddy, are now pissed at the whole thing. I hope with all my heart this is just a process they need to go through and the outcome will be great, but for the past few eps, they have stepped back from the classical fun Huddy interactions and non-Huddy fans are really annoyed. What i really fear is that the writers will use this anti-huddy movement as a pretext to move even further from Huddy. Maybe i'm being paranoid (ok, how many of us can honestly say they're not paranoid over this?!), but i sometimes wonder if, in good dark "House" tradition, we are going through all this trouble for almost nothing? Maybe we'll get the one-night-stand in ep 14 or maybe some other little bone thrown at us, but things will already be so complicated, it will never lead to a full-blown relationship?

playingcold @Delia_Beatrice - I agree with you. And no flames, but I can understand the non-Huddy fans too, because, let's be honest, this one step forward, 20 steps backward thing could be annoying for those who doesn't like them together. It's not good for the show. If you're paranoid, I'm paranoid too. I think the so called Cuddy-episode (which I'm looking forward to) could also make the situation better or worse. And not only in Huddy-way but in every other way too.

Beatrix8520 Great job! I loved this ep BTW, it was not like I pictured it but it was interesting and have lot of Huddy in it...in a way I was not really expecting....

lovelyhuddy I agree with you Hilly 100 percent! This is what I've been trying to tell everybody! Huddy will happen, just will take a little time.

Myrtyleg Once again, I love your review Hilly. But playingcold and @Delia_Beatrice, I agree with you both. I am very concerned because this Luddy arc is dragging the show down. Huddys and non-Huddys are getting very impatient and they're just bored with it. Soon, some will be past caring. I am dreading episode 14 now, not just because of the Luddy sex but because of what the reaction might be from Huddys and non-Huddys. I think TPTB need to grab the bull by the horns and just forget about Luddy! Give the show a new direction with a serious House/Cuddy relationship and snappy, sexy, sizzling, hot Huddy. Even if it doesn't work in the end, let's see House try and connect with Cuddy the way he did with Lydia.

I agree though with all views the paranoid and optimistic, and I also agree with the non-huddy's growing bored and the huddy's impatient. But come on guys this is HOUSE the most unique show out there, it has blown as away and given us things we would never expect time after time. Im extremely sure they're going to play this right because these are the people that gave us all those finale's, maybe they are just saving the best till last.

Delia_Beatrice Thank you, paranoid fellow huddies. It feels a bit better to know i'm not the only one who has trouble sleeping because of "House". Just one more thank you to huddyislove - i watched the episode again and you were completely right - it actually was a good Huddy episode, in many ways. Of course, not exactly the way we'd like, but still, compared to "Teamwork", "I.I.B" was more like it... Myrtyleg, i'm afraid (literally afraid) that we'll get a candy to forget our pain and then nothing but the old games... I am nearly convinced now that this (in)famous episode 14 has Huddy makeout/sex in it. I'm sure it will be an amazing, passionate, tender and true scene. I am sure it will be representative of the depth of their love. And I'm also sure it won't mean that they finally begin a real relationship. If we are realy-really-really lucky (please, God!!!!!), it will just mean that Lucas is out and House and Cuddy are back in the good old game - back and forth, teasing and desire, but still not quite there... And that would be fine! I am amased at myself, because this whole Lucas thing hit me so hard, i would give anything not for a relationship - hack, i'd give anything for a simple return to the status-quo... Also, if i look on the show from a non-huddy point of view, i can understand why the writers fear letting them get into the real thing together... I mean, the intimacy between them, the depth of their feelings, their chemistry, their deep understanding of each other... there are so many baeutiful things about them, it's not gonna be easy to avoid showing House happy... And apparently, any glimpse of happiness in the poor man's life is what everybody dreads... Really, i fear everything and anything - i even fear a relationship, because the writers could be really fast and cruel at ruining it... But on the bright side, do you remember what a huge debate there was about House's ability to be a part of Cuddy's life, now that she is a mother? And how everybody was so worried, because House always seemed to dislike kids? I think it's so LOVELY the way they slowly let the idea of Rachel get into his thoughts... The offer to babysit, the tickets to the zoo petting... He said her name or called her a "child" or "kid", as opposed to "Mowgli" (hilarious,that one!), he considered actually spending time with her in "Known Unknowns" and he actually thought about what a baby likes as entertainment in "Ignorance...", even if it was just part of a test for Cuddy. That is just another really moving and huge step forward for him. Of course, apart from us, i don't really know how many House fans would actually like to watch him changing diapers and playing with dolls, so... yeah, i have to admit i have no idea where this is going and i fear the worst...

Belle0308 Delia_Beatrice you made a really great point. Things are always growing, really always better, but it seems the fans, some of the fans want everything right now so the tend to ignore the little things that actually are touching and interesting. If this was even two season ago, people would be elated.
