They ended up together even though it took them 7 long years to actually get together even though they always had the chance to at any point of those years.

Ron didn't choose to seriously move on nor did he fall seriously in love with anyone else even though he lacked the courage to go for it with Hermione. So his love for her was true and obviously very, very strong. Maybe even so strong that it was one reason why it was so hard for him to let it on at all. (As in, afraid of it's strength so he denied it almost completely and treated Hermione as if she was just some sort of a second love thing.)

And Hermione didn't seriously move on nor did she seriously fall in love with someone else even though Ron made her wait and caused her heartache time after time. The most horrible ones no doubt how the Yule Ball night ended and how Ron ditched her and Harry in the hunt for the horcruxes regardless of her screaming after him. She cried for a week, if I recall correctly.

And the prolonged, passionate kiss they finally, all the sudden, got into and lost in it in just about the worst possible situation, showed well how strong their love had grown. I laughed out loud and for long as Harry watched it until he had to yell "OI! We're in the middle of a war here!" :'D

How can anyone doubt they weren't meant to be and is able to say it's unrealistic that they ended up married to each other? To me it seems they so were meant to be and it would'vebeen unrealistic if they didn't marry each other.
