Ron, cuz he's the best friend. He helps Harry go through tough times, and he's there to support him, although Hermione helps too. Plus, Ron's parents always offer Harry a home to stay during Christmas. ^^

Ugg. This question's impossible to answer. I'd say that Hermione was more helpful, but Ron's family did so much for him and Harry was so miserable whenever they fought.

depends what you mean. academically hermione helped him the most, but ron (and his folks) provided harry with a sort of adopted home, and ron is always there for harry morally, whereas hermione constantly nags him.

Ron is not self-centered, childish, a jealous freak, or pathetic! Just because he got mad? Ok, he CAME BACK and apologized. That takes maturity and courage! Ron was there for Harry in ways that Hermione never could (having that guy-friend bond thing, lol). I admit, on the journey, and other stuff, Hermione was the most useful and helped all the time, which is why I picked her, but Ron helped too!

I honestly don't understand how you could hate someone as nice and funny as Ron, after him and his family basically becomes Harry's family! Also, if Harry forgave him, why can't we? Everyone makes mistakes.

Hermione, definitely. She was much more loyal and was always helping Harry and looking out for him no matter what.

In the long run and the overall arching goal of the novels, Hermione. Primarily because she was smart to plan ahead. If she hadn't brought along her books and all those other supplies with them in DH, the story would have ended a lot differently. I do agree that Ron helped a lot too, Hermione just edges him out by just a little :)

ron helped more without a doubt. hermione helped more academically, obviously, but without ron's moral support and friendship harry wouldn't have been able to do it. he was pretty much useless everytime he and ron fought, whereas he carried on as normal when hermione was annoyed at him.

and also, y'all need to stop calling ron childish and the like. it's not gonna be easy being best friends with harry potter and hermione granger - i'd have gone crazy a few times too. he got jealous because he's human. and in dh, he only left because of the way the locket was affecting him. he was harry's rock throughout the series. hermione was a great friend too, but it's pretty obvious that harry needed ron more in regards to friendship.

Ron was spoiled and jealous. I never like him and I won't just because the rest loves him. The problem is that Ron was leaving Harry when he needed him most. Because he was jealous.

It's not just her intelligence, it's her loyalty. Poor Ron, though, I do kind of feel sorry for him. He tries.

I think they have stood by Harry in their own way strongly, but Hermione never ditched him when he needed him the most. She seemed to have kept a level head about certain things and concentrated on the bigger picture more than Ron.

I think Hermione helped him more with the important, demanding things, while Ron, being his best friend, helped with the minor, more enjoyable things.
