Glee Season 6 began last Friday with the long-awaited two-hour opener — Season 6, Episodes 1 and 2: “Loser Like Me/Homecoming” — and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally be catching up with the McKinley crew, almost all of whom were back in town for the school’s annual homecoming celebrations. What’s more? The season premiere was full of songs! 

Sometimes the tracks on Glee feel like they’re thrown in just because, but in the kick off to Season 6 co-creator Ryan Murphy et al made sure all of the characters got his or her moment to shine. Whether Blaine (Darren Criss) was getting back into the swing of things with The Warblers courtesy of Ed Sheeran’s “Sing,” or Rachel (Lea Michele) was morning the brutal cancellation of her truly terrible sitcom via Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited,” many of the songs in the finale packed an added punch.
