After a winter’s drought of fresh news, HBO today released 20 amazing new official images from

The photos feature an array of major characters from the upcoming year, including the returning (and standing?!) Bran, Yara and Balon Greyjoy, blind Arya, tense Lannister siblings and so much more! There is a distinct lack of the new characters, but that just means we have more to look forward to!

The season 6 premiere is now 73 days away, debuting on April 24th, in the show’s standard 9PM time slot.

I believe Bran and the Three-Eyed-Raven are standing at Winterfell because the wall textures are not dark enough to be Castle Black or Harrenhall and Winterfell (and the Dreadfort) have very similiar walls.

And that makes sense with the flashbacks we already know about. Interesting that they seem to be both walking around in their vision.

Love seeing Bran all grown up. The 5th photo of Jaime with Myrcella’s body…the look on his face. So sad.

isnt that a picture shortly after she jumped, she has the same clothes on. It would take some time for her to look really pregnant…

and Deadpan still has hair. I guess they can’t risk making her “unpretty”?

The Bran one looks like a flashback of Winterfell. The Walls look like the walls in S1.

Standing Bran is what confuses you? Standing BR gives pretty much away, that it’s a dream.

I don’t think enough time has passed for her to be showing, plus I feel like jumping off a huge wall would have nipped that in the bud, for lack of a better term

I still think it looks like Castle Black, but it could certainly be Winterfell.

I love that we’ll actually see Bran and the 3EC in the visions (reminds me of the Pensieve in Harry Potter). It’s so nice to see new footage, can’t wait for the trailer!

I’m not seeing a Sansa baby bump. Prays to the gods she’s not pregnant with a demon spawn.

That’s got to be a vision at WF, right? Definitely doesn’t look like the cave or the ToJ locations.

Theon and Sansa look adequately disheveled to appear to have been on the run for a while.

Brienne being indoors makes me doubt she finds Sansa and Theon, who are clearly out in the elements.

Poor Myrcella. Poor Tommen. Poor Jaime. Suffer, Cersei, suffer.

Uh oh, Septa Ulna appears to be giving Margery the ‘confess’ treatment.

We learn that: – Myrcella is actually dead and Jaime returns to KL with her corpse (Nell Tiger Free is also returning for a cameo in Season 6)

– Bran and Bloodraven will leave the cave and actually “visit” the places that Bran sees in his visions. In the picture they seem to be at Winterfell.

– Roose Bolton is alive at the start of the season (regarding the “Winterfell is mine” speculations)

– Melisandre will leave Castle Black

– Sansa and Theon both survived the fall

– And most shocking: Sansa seems to be pregnant with Ramsey’s child! 😮

Glum looking Mel, Marge in the crypts, Waking Dream Bran is a good idea, makes his character more interesting then just boring cave scenes, plus we get to see a standing Brynden Rivers/Bloodraven etc

They’re not gonna make her pregnant. Besides if it was a babies bump that would means she’d have to have been away from winterfell at least 2 month, which is unlikely.

Seeing all these pictures reminded me of how little I care about Dany’s story line. The others are just more exciting, despite not having dragons.

Why are people acting so surprised at Myrcella being dead? HBO already confirmed it months ago.

Well that removes any shadow of a doubt of Myrcella’s death, not just poisoning – they do sort of imply she’ll die in the next novel, and if it’s Tyene who ends up poisoning her perhaps this wasn’t the worst idea for a condensation (though I still think it was mishandled) — also, WTF Trystane is on the same ship?

Thought: confirmation that Samwell and Gilly will be traveling by ship to Oldtown. Some had wondered if they’d condense it by making them go overland (which is silly). ***I really hope the Cinammon Wind has a Summer Islander crew. They’re one of the few examples of black characters actually in the storyline that even Martin directly cited on a shortlist.

Greyjoys! Balon and Yara! I was worried Balon would remain offscreen.

FUN FACT: When Arya is blind, it’s not CGI: Maisie Williams is wearing special jelly-like contacts which actually render her blind in real life (method acting).

Balon is still alive and scowling, Melisandre really didn’t do such good job with them leeches… I still think the trailer might happen Sunday, purely because HBO would relish releasing a blood-soaked trailer, featuring world’s worst husband Ramsey and a twincesting couple on Valentine’s Day.

SO happy to see Patrick M. and Gemma W. in the pictures! Wish we got to see Pilou as well (can’t wait to see how they grease him up) but that picture of Arya got me so charged. I am excited to see where that girls ends come episode 10. I am probably one of the few who could give a shit about Jaime (Jaime is “meh” but NCW is “meow”!) but I admit I am a wee surprised that they off’d Myrcella. I sort of expected an antidote from Trystane. This should make for an uncomfortable homecoming.

They released pictures for season 6 of game of Thrones, maybe something more this weekend if we are lucky.

Why am I struggling to recognise that as Theon/Alfie Allen? I’m sure that must be him, but for some reason he looks a little different. (Edit: You know what it’s probably that shadow under his chin making it look like he’s got a new beard).

One major and much talked about character notable by his absence

Someone suggested Sansa was pregnant from a photo last year, and they were almost skewered. It could be (I mean, obviously it’s possible, people!), but even if it is, she could take care of that pretty easily I would think….should she want to. Or – she could be keeping her hands warm in some pockets. Or, maybe just found something to eat and leaned slightly. LOL. Us tall girls….gain 2 pounds and rumours fly.

I am so so so hoping Euron is terrifyingly badass. He could do it so well.

It;t not a baby pump, I check and it’s exactly the same outfit she wears when her and Theon jump last season. The way she is standing it looks like the material isn’t laying underneath one another creating a bulge.

One quick google search of her season 5 clothes should confirm it’s the same outfit/ probably not laying flush from the jump and fall.
