Cersei Lannister steamrolled over pretty much all of her competition in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. But according to Lena Headey, her character\'s time at the top of this world isn\'t going to last forever.

In the sixth episode of Season 5, Cersei made a power play that allowed her new BFFs the Faith Militant to arrest her nemesis, Queen Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and her fiance, Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones). But while she was nearly preening with delight that she got rid of two thorns in her side in one fell swoop, Headey promises Cersei is in over her head.

"She\'s the person that lives nearby the throne at all times, so I genuinely think she\'s like, \'It\'s clearly just going to happen. I\'ll just get rid of everybody,\'" Headey tells Zap2it and a group of journalists on the Belfast set of "Game of Thrones" in October 2014. "She\'s doesn\'t really see the bigger consequence, which is also what I love about her is that. [She\'s] a wayward teen. She\'s not too savvy about things."

Headey places some of the blame for Cersei\'s lack of perspective at the feet of her now-dead father, Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance). Describing her character as a "wayward 15-year-old teen who\'s never had any real parenting," Cersei\'s two current goals in life are to make sure her brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) is dead and to get everyone who could be a threat to her power out of the way.

"I think that\'s all she wants to do is have him gone, and then I think she\'ll be lost, because that seems to be one of her main reasons for existing at the moment," Headey reflects. "She gets involved -- wrongly -- this season with people she thinks are going to be her allies. It\'s kind of interesting, do you know what I mean? She\'s a bit like, \'I know what to do. It doesn\'t matter.\' And it doesn\'t prove right.

"She\'s got to this age with three children and no family other than that, and she\'s just been let loose, and she\'s about to learn some really severe lessons. She\'s either going to die, or they\'re going to help her in some way. It remains to be seen."

Cersei\'s focus on those two personal issues is causing her to miss bigger threats: The White Walkers in the North and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) across the Narrow Sea. Headey thinks that if Cersei was faced with the Khaleesi and her three dragons, she would "realize the enormity of it," but that still seems a long way off from happening.

"The immediacy of her surroundings is her ultimate trap, but she doesn\'t realize it," Headey says. "She\'s like, \'That\'s bulls***. That\'s magic, that\'s rubbish, what are you talking about? As long as my kids are all right. If my kids are all right and one of them gets on the throne -- or I do, but that means I die, so that\'s rubbish.\' The survival of her immediate family is what\'s important, and avenging her mother, which involves killing Tyrion, who she\'s hated for her entire life. She\'s rather short-sighted in all of this."

While Headey thinks Cersei never once believes she can lose the game of thrones and die, it\'s something the actress who plays her thinks about frequently.

"She would have killed herself a long time ago if it wasn\'t for her children, and that\'s my only thought," she says. "Obviously there are plenty of people who\'d like to kill her. I often think it will be Arya [Maisie Williams] because she\'s on her list, but that\'s the joy of this. Even if you turn the page and read your own death, it\'s still exciting because I love what it does. I enjoy watching it. Maybe she deserves to die at some point."

Until that point, Headey isn\'t stressing whether or not she\'s viewers\' favorite character, even though she can see Cersei isn\'t all bad. "I\'m not out to be liked," she says. "I\'m playing her as I see her truth, so I don\'t seek a redeeming quality. I just happen to think nobody\'s purely a s***."
