I really don't believe he did, his surprise was so genuine and he went on quite the search. It never really seemed to click for him when anyone called him "sir" or tried to talk to him as if he were Tyler.

I agree with dizzy_claire on the fact that his surprise seemed genuine and all that.

I also agree with the fact that on some subconcious level he knew that he was Tyler.

I just think that the subconcious level that knew WAS in fact Tyler.

Tyler is a part of the Narrator's subconcious come to life. This Tyler-part certainly knows that it is a part of the narrator.

So yes, subconciously the Narrator knows, because Tyler knows.

people with multiple personality disorder will do things like trick themselves all the time so that the one side of them never knows. but if they are the same person, they have to know in a way. he doesn't believe that they are the same person, but if he is tyler and tyler knows, he knows. and i know this because tyler knows this.
