I think if he somehow gets rid of the pain he will be able to stop, but it is unlikely that they would do that again. Plus the pain, pills, and misery make House good.

The only time house will actually forever stop his addiction is if the show ends and its the last season, and if the writers decide to go for a happy ending. Then they'll make House "whole" and he'll have found another way to manage his pain.

But otherwise...nope! As long as the show keeps going he won't quit poping those pills!
