I feel like they should do that. They don't really have to rebel against their parents just to prove they're independent.

It would be nice to have a role model for our daughters that does not rebel against their parents (especially their Dad, my husband has a problem with the Disney Princesses because of that)

I feel like there are too many orphaned Disney heroines or the ones that have rocky relationships with their parents and in some way it'a great that Disney adresses those issues but at the same time it would be good to have a Disney heroine who shares a strong connection with her parents that actually contribute something to her story other than being an obstacle or being almost irrelevent to the plot like Aurora's parents.

Far from rebelling, Tiana was TOO deferential to her father (of course, she obsessively followed what she thought her father would have wanted, but he probably would have cared more about her happiness than the restaurant). Anyway, Tiana was the second most recent Disney Princess, so it's not like this is ancient history.

Briar Rose, of course, obeys her parental figures completely. Her one claimed act of rebellion actually just took place in her dreams.

Belle's one act of disobedience to her father is to save his life, so it's pretty understandable (at the time, he's sick and dying; Belle's healthy and could survive imprisonment). Other than that one justifiable act, Belle and her father are entirely supportive of each other's oddities. Besides, Belle disobeys every single thing anyone directly tells her to do, so it's not like she singles out her father for rebellion.
