She's got amazing songs, cool side-characters, and she's a nice person who goes for what she wants.
Although the tail is really cool, it's only part of it, I think.

I think the reason she's popular is because a lot of people can probably relate to her because she seems like an average & realistic teenager as opposed to a fictional & perfect Princess. I'd say young children would probably like her a great amount due to the uniqueness of the mermaid aspect, but other than that it's probably just an added bonus.

(I could be wrong.. just guessing as I'm not too keen on her lol)

I know the reason I love her is because she's rebellious, has a great singing voice, is tough but also naive and vulnerable, has red hair, I love her color scheme of red, green, and purple. BUT, I must say her being a mermaid is a huge plus!
