Though there are some girls who definitely fit modern tag. But i would love to see an ultra modern character from Disney - have a career, use tech, date men, have gossip group of girls etc.

Agreed with PL. Didn't they already try to bash millennials (hurr so edgy) in that Cars sequel? They'll probably have some really cringy straw feminist character who has a Tumblr and dyed hair and generally only acts the way Gen Xers and boomers think we act.

But in personality, Merida, Anna, Tiana, Moana, and Jasmine have pretty modern personalities.

Whenever Disney have done modern before eg. 101 Dalmatians, Oliver And Company - I feel like they didn't do that well - (at least they're not ones people would mention straight away, if asked to name a Disney film) - but I guess it could be different if the story was based around a person (as opposed to an animal in these instances) - I'm not sure though

I'm a fan of olden types of stories, I don't really care for modern day or futuristic ones. The personality can be all modern like in Frozen and Tangled, but modern settings kind of take the magic out of being a Disney Princess.
