I love that Anna was so willing to constantly forgive her sister, but the way she treats Elsa, especially with Elsa's anxiety, is totally wild to me. Like during FTFTIF reprise, when Elsa says, it's safest if i'm up here, and Anna goes "actually we're not...." and basically blames her sister for the snow storm and says that she's a danger, I can't believe she speaks to her that way. Frankly I think the way people react to Elsa's powers are totally unnatural, because I think in real life people would think it's really cool, but back to the point. Also when she goes "Elsa struck me with her powers." and then when asked if she thought Elsa couldn't hurt her, "I was wrong." That's not exactly what happened, Elsa hit her BY ACCIDENT brought on by Anna blaming her and calling her dangerous... I don't know, the way Anna treats Elsa is like "I love you sister... but you are a freak monster who needs to stop this storm." I wrote it out better in my essay.

Okay, this is an excerpt from my "Frozen and Feminism" essay:

"Anna is the one to explain to Elsa about the storm that Elsa is inadvertently set upon the kingdom, and the wording here is key. Elsa says to Anna “just stay away and you’ll be safe from me,”, to which Anna replies, “actually we’re not…” Anna is refuting that staying away from Elsa will keep her from harm because she can be harmed by Elsa no matter where she is. Anna is telling Elsa that she is a danger who caused a terrible storm to brew on their kingdom and this causes Elsa’s emotional breakdown, where Elsa sings about how she is a danger and there is no escaping her curse and fear. It’s such an insensitive comment to make, especially to someone who is clearly emotionally imbalanced, and the implications are that Anna sees Elsa as an actual threat to her life. "

I don't know about this one. The last time I saw Frozen was about 4 months ago, so I don't remember exactly how it went... but wasn't the main reason Anna went after Elsa so she could stop the storm? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I think they should have made it like everyone was telling Anna to find Elsa so Arendelle could be saved, and Anna agrees mainly because she wants to find her sister and help her. That would have been so much better. In the FTFTIF reprise, Anna says that she needs Elsa to stop the eternal winter, and to me that made it seem like she cared more about the weather than her sister. And I really dislike some of the things Anna said about Elsa, like the examples princesslullaby gave. But she does give her life for Elsa at the end, so that's good. She was just really hurt about being "shut out," but she should've listened to Elsa and talked to her more before she started saying horrible things like that.

She had good intentions, but they didn't always work.

As seen in "For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)" she tried to understand with her sister's fear.

Very much. For the First Time In Forever (Reprise) best highlights it. She never gives up on or abandons her sister, no matter how many times she shuts her out, pushes her away, and even strikes at her. I actually like Anna a lot (despite her forced quirkiness) based on her devotion to her sister.

But Elsa did cause the storm. I don't see how much more delicately Anna could possibly have tiptoed around that fact. Not to mention, Elsa blames Anna right back- "You'll only make it worse!"

and my own answer- OBVIOUSLY! As PL said, constant forgiveness, unconditional love, blaming yourself for what someone else did, even sacrificing yourself for them... if that's not a good relative, friend or even person I don't know what is.

Anna may did many foolish faults such as wanted to marry a stranger, snatched sissy's glove, pressed her true love without thinking her emotions, but here are the list why she is a GOOD sister to Elsa.

- Always wanted to mend the bond with her sister.
- Understanding. At first she thought Elsa doesn't like to stand close to her, she withdrew. She understood Elsa better than Elsa knew herself.
- Knowing her fault very quickly. When Elsa ran away from Arendelle, she knew that it's her fault and try to chase her back. Also she apologised to Elsa in the ice palace.
- Optimistic, even though the situation is very hard. Yes, you can call her stupid, but you want her sister to never give up on you, right?
- Supportive. Anna supported Elsa when she thought she couldn't undo her wintry deed, and yet she could.
- Last but not least: SELFLESS. After all what Elsa had done to her, she sacrificed her life for her true love even though Elsa's the one who did that (froze Anna's heart).

Over the course of the movie, Anna went from thinking her sister was a total hindrance to her life, to believing that preserving a relationship with her sister was paramount. Anna ( for all her dorkiness and stupidity/naivety) does all the CHANGING in the movie. Anna is the protagonist, and the most dynamic figure. Elsa changes very little, and yelling "It's love!" in order to make summer return-- is not a significant change-- because we don't really see Elsa making anymore choices after that. We saw Elsa run away; we saw her sing LIG and build an ice castle; we saw her freeze Anna's heart; we saw Elsa send an ice monster after Anna; we saw Elsa blast hoodlums with ice, and blast herself free from prison with her powers.... But we did not see Elsa take a stand against Hans. We did not see her helping the inhabitants of her community. Making and ice rink and a snow cloud for Olaf is just all fluff and no substance. Does Elsa do anything for anybody? Not really. Elsa is not as selfless as people claim she is.

^^ I don't know if you were talking to me, AudreyFreak, but the way I thought of it was like Anna saw that Elsa was scared and needed help, but Anna was more focused on the storm, so I think that Anna should have been more concerned about her sister than the snow.

I do think Anna was a good sister, but there's a few problems with some things she says that I really don't like.
