I like Mulan, but people here really, really do overrate here, I think at least partly because they misunderstand her for something other than she really is. Would her fans like her as much if she didn't learn to fight or save China? I doubt it. People seem to confuse her with Merida, only a more mature Merida with purpose to her fighting skills.

Oh please, where have you been? I see Aurora getting praised on here all the time.

I agree with KataraLover. Name me more than five fans that hate or dislike aurora. I can and at least fifteen that like her and are always defending her. If we say a word about aurora, people go raging saying "aurora! How could you not like her? So graceful! So elegant! She's a classic!" More like so overrated! No wonder why when ever I say she is not a great character aurora's fan club begins to come in with her 700 fans and starts stretching her personality and over analyzing every move she makes as a defense for the heck of defending a classic. I'm sorry, but people make her out to be this extremely layered and complex original character that has NEVER been done before, when really, she is just the typical fairy tale princess that you would find in those fairytale kids books.

Yeah, but she does deserve the praise she gets. Maybe she is a little bit overrated though.

sorry but maybe you should analyze her a bit more instead of judging her at face value, yeah she's not exactly complex but she's more than just a damsel in distress that sings and dances

I'm sorry but over the past couple months Aurora has found her spot at the Plastics' table with Belle and Ariel.

I WAS surprised to see she gets less hate here but I wouldn't call her that loved. Where have I been? I only started posting regularly a few months ago. And Kataralover, I could ask you the same thing about Ariel. EVERY girl I knew growing up and know now adore(d) her, while ignoring her bad traits too. for every Ariel-basher there's 10 defenders.

Of course Aurora's a typical fairy tale princess. it's a fairy tale. Her being one doesn't mean she can't have a personality. Apples and oranges. You know why people defend her? Because she's ALWAYS gotten bashed. some people are tired of it. Why does this bug you guys?

I think you're mixing 'overrated' with you just disliking her. Overrated means her worth is seen as greater than it really is. Her "worth" is, at best, that she's elegant/pretty. Also, if we see layers of her personality, we point it out. You don't have to agree. Most people agree she's pretty but call her boring/weak.

You guys don't need to be rude either. People with that attitude is partly what made me start liking the classics more to begin with, cuz people always trash them.

Agreed with Mongoose. Almost ALL the DPs are judged at face value, for better or worse. For Aurora it's usually worse. "She's so boring, she does nothing but sing and cry!" You don't have to like her but you can't defend the newer ones for the same reasons you're insulting the older ones.

Just see the results of the previous poll, and you'll understand why I am voting for Ariel. I've seen so often people calling her underrated, and I seriously can't understand how is she underrated. There's hardly anybody disliking her, everybody always praises her.

I agree with BelleAnastasia. How is Aurora overrated, seriously? She's usually in the bottom tier with Snow, Poca, Tia, and Merida and usually is second or third to last in Fanpop's ranks.

Audreyfreak, I know she has a personality and I am not completely agreeing with KataraLover. She is completely being stretched now to the point where it is overrated. She isn't as realistic and relatable as people make it seem like, that's just trying to pick on the smallest details of her and turning it into a personality.

AudreyFreak- But no one ever says Mulan is underrated on this spot, just in her merchandise- which she is. If we go by merchandise, Aurora could never be considered underrated. I do agree with you on Aurora, though.
But seriously, I don't think any of the ones called underrated are overrated.

I know I am the minority, but I think she is a bit too overrated. Sure, she is nice, can read, cook, is adventurous, and what not, but there is nothing special about her. Everything she did has been done before. People complain about belle saying that she has no flaws (even though she has a few), but Rapunzel has legit NO FLAWS. Everyone likes her immediately, she never does something wrong, and she is seen as this perfect female protagonist in the movie and on the Internet. I think there has to be some uniqueness to make you stand out, and she has none of that to me.

I don't really think Mulan is overrated here exactly, but she would be the closest to this. She's underrated in general, but has received a reasonable amount of attention on here lately.

i see mulan get called underrated here... maybe not always with that exact WORD but people always say she deserves more love. even though everyone still adores her.. i almost picked her but, ariel is actually more overrated (i love her though) while people call her underrated. wut?? she is like the most popular girl here.

lol i love how aurora has the GALL to steal a tiny bit of Miss Supr Popular arial's thunder and this makes her "overrated". haha. sorry but you guys remind me of those kids in school who get mad the second someone else gets the attention they want only its for disney girls here.
