I would've liked her SO MUCH more! I already really like her but this would've add some rebellion to her which I'd love. It would show she's brave and wouldn't let anything or anyone stop her from following her dreams or being with the one she loves. It would show she's grown and is showing she's not a "yes dear aunt" little girl anymore but is a woman.

I already love her for other reasons and I wouldn't really like her less and not more either since she's my 2nd favorite princess so about the same as now maybe a bit lower, but she would still be one of my favorites!

She chose her duty over what she wanted...she did what was right...even though it is not what she wanted....she did not run from her destiny but instead embraced it....She listened to her elders and realized that they would not want her to do something unless it was the right thing to do. She was a good girl who followed the rules and did the responsible thing by listening to the women that raised and took care of her all those years. I just wish Disney would have shown her more as she was growing up.

It's not clear what the right thing was. Prince Phillip gives up his thrown and family and runs away to marry Briar Rose, rather than marry a princess. This is depicted as romantically noble rather than irresponsible. What's more, it also saves the day. If he hadn't run away, he would have been put to sleep along with the rest of the kingdom and the fairies would never have found him.

Even so, it's understandable that Briar Rose didn't rebel. She had just suddenly learned the shocking truth about herself, so she didn't really have time to take it all in. All she really knew was that her "aunts" did love her, so she trusted them.

In contrast, Prince Phillip knew the truth about himself and his engagement to Princess Aurora for years. He had spent years knowing that his father had decided this arranged marriage for him without considering his feelings. Phillip had surely decided to give up his throne some time on his way back to the castle. He was just being polite and respectful enough to tell his father about his decision rather than just disappearing without explanation or even saying goodbye.

Maybe a little bit more b/c she would show initiative

Sure it would show initiative but it would also show that she's not that smart and has no sense of duty. Where would she go? She has no one else other than the boy she just met. She's actually smarter to trust the women that raised her instead of staying or running away for a boy.
