If most of bạn like me have grown up with The Little Mermaid and have followed the phim chiếu rạp and TV shows, I think bạn realize when it comes to the story of the rebellious redhead from under the sea, it's not completely there.
Now I didn't see The Little Mermaid in theaters, but a lot of bạn did. It after all was the highest grossing animated film at that time. And of course, bạn all loved it. So when bạn found out that Disney was making an animated series about the movie, bạn of course were very excited. I myself grew up watching the series on VHS's and one of the VHS's I owned was "In Harmony."
And in that episode, we see a flashback as to how Ariel met her best friend, Flounder. We see that they met when they were young.
Then comes the sequel where we see that Ariel has a daughter. OK.
But then years later, we have the prequel film, "Ariel's Beginning." Where we see Ariel and cá bơn, bồ câu meeting for the first time, but what's this???????? They're not young, They're both TEENAGERS!!!
What. The. HELL?!?!?!??!
bạn know, truthfully, I kinda like Ariel's Beginning and I even like the way Ariel and cá bơn, bồ câu meet for the first time in the movie. It's quite cute and adorable, but it's like the producers didn't even watch the series before making the movie!
When bạn make a prequel film, bạn have to pay attention to detail. Which means bạn have to look at the original nguồn material and carry off from that. That is one of the most important things.
In closing, if they insist on remaking the way Ariel and cá bơn, bồ câu meet, then I say they do a remake series. A remake series leaves a lot of room for thêm stories and ideas. For example, early episodes could hiển thị a younger, skinnier Ursula working in the palace before becoming the Sea Witch. There could be thêm adventures, thêm drama, thêm everything!
