OK, first of all, I haven't seen the film. Unfortunately, due to my somewhat uncontrollable curiosity, I have seen spoilers of the ending and anything in between and as a result of this, I have discovered that Hans is in fact the villain of the movie and at the end, he is punched out bởi Anna, he is sent back trang chủ to be punished bởi his brothers, and on hàng đầu, đầu trang of all that, Elsa proclaims that Weselton is no longer welcome in Arandelle.

OK, let me give my 2 cents about this right now......MAKING HANS THE BAD GUY WAS ABSOLUTELY STUPID!!!!! Why did Hans have to be the bad guy?! WHY?! Why couldn't Elsa have been the villain?! Anyone who's read hoặc at least knows the story knows that the Snow Queen is the bad guy. Listen, I'm not saying that Elsa should be the villain forever, just for a large majority of the film until Anna heals her hoặc something like that. She would've been a much better villain than some douchebag who wants to get power.

And on that subject, let me state this, I. HATE. DOUCHEBAG. BAD GUYS!! The reason I hate them is not because the predetermined reasons that are presented in front of them bởi their creators, but for the fact the only reasons they're created is to be seen as the damn spawns of Satan and not only be hated bởi the characters, but bởi the people watching the movie. And Hans, unfortunately, falls into that category. I mean obviously not in the beginning of the movie, but after he reveals his true nature to Anna...BOOM! He is the freaking DEVIL!! Why did this character have to exist?! He doesn't have to! But if he does, he should've someone who starts off not the best, but then gets his redemption in the end. Someone bạn could sympathize with. Hell, I kinda sympathize with his backstory. But no! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! Instead, he's just some other douchebag guy who starts off good, then becomes an asshole, then does asshole things, then gets foiled, then gets told off and gets his commuppance!! And on hàng đầu, đầu trang of that, he's banished and the kingdom doesn't want anything to do with him hoặc his kingdom! Jesus Christ!!

And because of this, he's probably not even gonna appear in the parks which is another issue I want to address. Dochebag characters are apparently exempt from the parks! Characters who people generally hate do not appear in the parks which is stupid! The other Disney villains appear in the parks. They've done terrible things, but they're still beloved! Hell, Lotso did horrible things, but even after the movie, he made appearances, but nowadays, he's not in the parks! Mother Gothel, despite doing bad things and having her number of haters, has her number of những người hâm mộ too, but she has yet to appear in the parks! So bạn can guess that Hans will be absolutely nowhere to be found!

Look, I'll admit it, making it appear that someone is the good guy bởi marketing them that way and then pulling a 180 in the movie and have them revealed to be the bad guy is pretty clever, but quite frankly, if bạn want my honest opinion, it just seems like a fakeout! A fakeout that that doesn't need to be.

The consequences of Hans' actions at the end of the movie perfectly illustrate how annoying this cliché is! Douchebag characters who have no purpose other than to be hated are just dumb. The idea of a character, whether it be a hero hoặc a villain, is for people to tình yêu them. Joker is one of the most evil supervillains ever, but do bạn know why he's also one of the most popular? Because he makes his work entertaining, he makes bloody murder and genocide hilarious. He's having fun doing what he does and because of that, we have fun along with him. The Disney Villains from the Classic Era and the Renaissance Era are beloved because they enjoy what they do, not to mention they have great villain songs and charisma. Hans has become another who has fallen under this curse. He starts off good, then becomes a bad guy, does really bad things, gets foiled, then told off, and then humiliated. And his whole kingdom gets punished as well.

Tygers_Eye No offense, but you admitted you haven't seen the film yet. How do you know it's a bad call if you haven't seen the film? Sometimes an idea that sounds stupid can work when you see it in context, and sometimes an idea that sounds great can look terrible when you see the film. I hated Frozen with a burning passion until after I watched it, then realized all the things I had bashed it for (CGI, story changes from Hans Christian Andersen's original work, making Elsa a deuteragonist instead of the antagonist, etc.) actually worked in context. I'd like for you to write another article after you've seen the film and share what your feelings are then.

starlight77 I think the reason Hans is the villain and Elsa is the hero (in a way, maybe more Anna) is to show that people aren't always what they seem and you can't judge people off of their stereotypes. I actually kind of liked that aspect of the film. I would've liked to see Hans be a good guy as well but I think it made it slightly interesting. However, it kind of made me sad. He was more of an adult kind of villain, in the way we were all rooting for him in the beginning.

TheFabulousFAN Me too i mean he was nice and would make a great prince ...but they didn't need to make him the villain I saw the film and hated it for various reasons but I grew to like it a bit despite its major flaws but they DID NOT need to make Hans the villain urg...but I guess I get why

Lanalamprouge It's going to be interesting to see what your opinion is after watching the movie but for now I think you should also see him in context but for what you said as a character... yeah they just made him the devil and sent him off to a country that didn't want him for punishment what makes me a little mad is I see how a villain like Hans could work as a human and not just Devil spawn. they did slightly touch on Hans Backstory but it still barely comes into play in his motives. I mean you have to remember that ONE sentence he shared an hour back into the movie they could've developed him more like a double sided look that later you realize wasn't what you thought or a reaction to being in charge. these things didn't need to paint devil horns or even need dialogue but with the CGI animation they did on Rapunzel's parents I know they could have done it with Hans. would it have been a bit more obvious? maybe but at least we wouldn't be no way?! the character who won't end up with Anna because you want him with Kristoff will be the villain because Weaselton.... Weselton guy is too obvious as a villain already and you want a plot twist. and I actually enjoyed him but even in context they didn't ease us into the character and motives and just made him a greedy jerk with luck (seriously Elsa turning out to have ice powers, Anna handing him the kingdom, chandelier, Anna dying) I wish they'd made his character work better

324anna I totally agree!! Elsa should be the villain who becomes good at the end, but nooo lets take Hans, make him look kind and cute and then turn him into the bad guy! But I have to admit that starlight77 has a point, maybe they just wanted to show how people aren't always what they seem to be at the beginning. Anyway, great article, you should write another one, after you see the film.

TigerRanma "We should love our villains. Or at least love to hate them." Yeah, I'm not a villain fan at all. I don't have a favorite villain list like the rest of you. I just don't care about villains because they're evil. I'm not going to give them credit for their "passion" for doing bad. I could like their songs because they sound epic but that's it. For me, Hans is kinda like Gaston. He's just not a jerk to the heroine in the beginning like Gaston is. He's smarter than that. He was charming to Anna, which Gaston couldn't do to Belle to win her over.

MadameLee um the Snow Queen in Hans' story wasn't evil either.

As often as Disney princess sidekicks are talked about, it feels to me that the side characters of villainous role are often over-looked.
