A MUCH better villain, wouldn't bạn agree?
A MUCH better villain, wouldn't you agree?
So many times on this site I have talked about why I think Maleficent is a bad villain and I have tried explaining once (Swanpride remembers this) but I ended up using tons of bad arguments and I didn't word it properly so now I want to try it again. If bạn have any disagreements, I would tình yêu to thảo luận about this in the các bình luận so feel free to state your opinions.

What I consider a good villian is not all about cool posing hoặc evil laughs. It's not all about how evil they seem bởi the way that they act hoặc how many people they get to fear of them. To me, it's all about the ruthlessness, the realims, tactics, and the way they set a theme into a villian. Maleficent's concept was an interesting concept. Maleficent is a symbol of all evil. Maleficent has no care of any being, basically a satanic type villain.

The way that they portrayed this into the storyline though did not quite exactly make sense though. Maleficent arrives at a party and decides to strike fear into people because "she was not wanted". To get revenge and prove to them to do what she orders, she casts a spell on Aurora and that on her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger into a spindle and die.

During this scene, how she was diễn xuất during her appearance seems quite artificial and makes her appear as a cliche type villain. Their wasn't a single thing about her that made her unique. Yes, she was quite interesting, but not very much on the unique side. thêm of one of those villains that bạn would think of when bạn think of a cliche story.

She appears during that scene and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is..... An evil laugh, of course! Not only that, but she starts giving her evil laugh way too many times during the scene to be realistic in any way, shape, hoặc form.

The tiếp theo thing is, if Disney wanted to make an interesting rounded villain, they could have made her shades of grey rather then all a dark character. The other option would be to portray this symbol in a better way, but they didn't. They kept her cliche. It's not like Shan Yu, he was an action based character and his role in the movie was made up bởi his actions rather then his dialogue.

Now Maleficent is not horrendous at playing her role as a villain. She is bad (I will get to that later), but not as bad as some other villians. The main thing that get's me about Maleficent is the way she was done.

tiếp theo thing, she has bad motives. Why would the devil want to come to a christening? This makes absolutely no sense! Why would the devil want to do that, why? People say this shows thêm realism in the fact that she is a quite evil symbol, but she wasn't được trao a backstory hoặc anything to give us more.

I get it, she was evil and all, but quite artificially evil. A very flat and boring symbol who is made up of very basic and small amount of traits. Not developed at all and not very rounded either. She doesn't have much thought put into her. How easy is it to think of a dark and evil character? She needs to have some kind of perspective hoặc something shown of her in the movie. She is made up of basic traits and is nothing much.

And really, the only reason why people really like her is because of her whole theme. Like just as it was mentioned above, people are so focused on her evilness and her whole theme of green and devil màu sắc they don't pay attention to anything regarding her depth.

Maleficent is of course super powerful but take a một giây to think, imagine if Maleficent didn't have her powers. Would her character be the same? No. It would not. Which is of course reasonable, but my main point is, people think Maleficent has a real character but she doesn't. Her powers take up her character and it distracts everyone from her herself. Her power is the thing that is moving her throughout the movie and without it she is nothing. She never had a chance for us to see her make a big decision like we did for Shan Yu, we never got to see if she was Công chúa tóc xù hoặc anything because we can't thanks to her power. Her power is the thing that is making her seem like this great character but really she isn't. Without her power she is nothing. Shan Yu on the other hand is smart, brave, calm, adaptable, ruthless and we got to see that alot rather then having his strength take over the film.

Well, it's time for another bài viết here in Scarletland! I admit, I had this need for wanting to make another bài viết again, but I didn't know of what subject to make of. Then browsing around the Internet, the inspiration struck me: I could write about Disney villains! Genius! Because that subject isn't trite and overdone at all! (/sarcasm)

Jokes aside, I've been these last days thinking and analyzing the Disney villains thêm than usual (that is; I almost never think about them, so this was really unusual for me). Villains are essential for many of these movies, because if it weren't for them...

Saw an old câu hỏi đã đăng from a năm cách đây that inspired me to write this. The câu hỏi was about which Disney Princesses might make best friends, in pairs, based on commonalities. As I started to think about it, I found all of the commonalities to be quite interesting. So I decided to post my findings of commonalities (not go for the BFF route) just because I found it interesting what the princesses had so much in common. Hope bạn guys do too:

Snow & Aurora:
Both were royal but fled to the forest to escape their villains. Both were put under a sleeping spell. Both like to dance and initiate...

Hi everyone! I recently learned about the Bechdel Test from a friend and have been wanting to write this bài viết ever since. This test is, at its core, an analysis of how women are portrayed in được ưa chuộng culture. It reveals how much women tend to revolve around men in films, books, etc. To pass the test, a film (or any other work of fiction) must meet three requirements: the film must (1) have at least two named female characters (2) who talk to each other (3) about something other than a man. It seems so simple, right? Unfortunately a surprising number of films fail in at least one of these...

Okay, so I already did this, but with a different method. This time, I'll just be doing the regular way I always do it. Anyways, please keep in mind that this is my opinion, and we may disagree, so respect my opinion and I'll respect yours.

Enjoy the article! :)

13. Merida
In my opinion, she definitely isn't ugly, but she's not as pretty as the rest of the Disney Princesses here. First, I absolutely tình yêu her curly red hair! It's absolutely gorgeous. I also tình yêu her eyes, they're very pretty, especially with the blue color to them. However, I do have a problem with her head. Her hair is...

Ok, so I'm going to danh sách my hàng đầu, đầu trang 10 yêu thích Disney Princess dresses. Since there's 10 spots, one Princess may be in the danh sách multiple times and another may not be on it at all. Before my number one I will danh sách honorable mentions that ALMOST made it onto my list. Time to start the list! Keep in mind that this is my opinion, and bạn might not agree. Enjoy the article!

10. Belle's vàng dress

Maybe it's a tad overrated, but I think it deserves a lot of the attention it gets. It's absolutely gorgeous! Just look at it! And this is coming from someone who hates that color, and even I have to admit...

All right, this is really part analysis and half rant so if bạn dislike the Disney Princesses (and if bạn do I don't know why you're here!) hoặc hate the ones who at any point need a man's help (which is all of them, but I'll get to that later), I don't recommend đọc this.

I also must warn you: I discuss stuff about every princess and we have THIRTEEN NOW, so it'll be long. Feel free to skim to your favorites, though, if bạn wish, to make it shorter.

A lot of Disney những người hâm mộ and critics alike accuse the Princesses, specifically the older ones, of "sitting around waiting for a prince", "waiting...

I was bored so I decided to write an bài viết about which princesses look like which greek goddesses, since I'm greek and I tình yêu the Greek Mythology. Enjoy!

Hera- Jasmine

Firstly, Hera has a serious problem with her temper, like Jasmine. She likes getting revenge and even though we don't see hoa nhài as revengeful, I believe that if someone hurts her, she won't forget it so easily (besides Aladdin, she forgives him every time, like Hera forgives Zeus). Also, Hera protects women which means she's a feminist, again like Jasmine. Another common, is thei history with their husbands. Zeus...

But I don't care I can state my Opinions even if I present them as though they are facts. About Frozen, No, I don't just hate I because it's so được ưa chuộng but the 'hype' I dislike as well, sorry but I dislike lots of things. Is there a problem? Anyway I recently made a tường post hoping to find someone that could tell me WHY they liked Nữ hoàng băng giá so I could watch it with an Open mind.
