Lol, She's like the một giây most influential Native American woman một giây only to Sacajawea. However, being that you're from Australia it's perfectly understandable...I don't know ANYTHING about your country's history hoặc any of its natives. Hopefully bạn read enough about her to know that her story was alot different from the Disney version.

Woah! I don't know where bạn read your history on Pocahontas Hindaa but the romance between Pocahontas and John Smith is pretty much made up. She was 11. He was almost 30. Her reasons for saving him was because she knew his execution would cause a war between the natives and the settlers. She also only had one son with John Rolfe after she converted to Catholicism and changed her name to Rebecca. She died in England of unknown causes. She actually has many many American 'white' descendents though. My ex was one of them in fact.

But it's one of the most romanticized american legends. I figure this is because most people would rather hear a tình yêu story of mutual enlightenment ...rather than watch an 11 năm old native american girl make everyone (especially our white ancestors) look like a bunch of dumbasses.

She didn't meet John Rolfe until he came to Jamestown to help out with government, ect. John SMITH, who she met when she was younger, was a real brute, and was only out to prserve Jamestown. He did whatever it took, meaning that he did threaten naives. She liked John Rolfe once she met him, but he didn't come to Jamestown itil it was pretty well established as an American colony, meaning that Pocahontas was a whole lot older. Summary: John SMITH=Probably hate John ROLFE=Loved. I know it gets confusing- the name John was way too được ưa chuộng back then.

Yep, it's true. But besides being daughters of a chief and Knowing a John Smith they are hardly anything alike. Even Pocahontas wasn't her real name, it was Mataoaka. Pocahontas is a nickname.

But hey, bạn take what bạn get right? ^_^

Yeah I already knew way long before the Disney movie came out. But before the Disney movie came out, I wasnt that much intested in it. But after I seen the movie, I got curious and wanted to know thêm about the real person. So I watched the documentries, read the sách and other phim chiếu rạp about Pocahontas. I know back in 2007 me and my husband went on Vaction to Virgina. We stayed in Williamsberg for a week, and while there we went to all the colonial sites. We went to Histroic Jamestown, the Jamestown Settlement which is a living history museum of what Jamestown use to look like in which is less than a mile from the histoic site, Yorktown,Coloinal Willimsberg. It was very intresting to learn how America begain there as well learn about the real Pocahontas and real John Smith.
