People's individual ethics can be different, but plastic surgery before you've finished growing is just plain unhealthy.

Just like tattoos, kids need to wait until their legal age, unless they want a crap and possible dangerous job done of it.

Cosmetic surgery for health reasons-- and yes, those exist and at request, I'll give examples-- should be available to teens at a doctor's request and with the signed consent of their parents. But a teenager's body is still growing, so what you change might grow into something you don't like in ten years. Like Jillwinkles said, it's a bad idea because it's unhealthy, not necessarily unethical (of the teenager). However, if a doctor performed plastic surgery on a teen, that would be unethical.

I don't believe teenagers should get plastic surgery, though I'd say the bad ethics are with the doctor and in some cases the parents, not the teen.
I don't think at that age they are really in a position to make a descision like that, especially since many people's self esteem is at a low point in their teens, so there are people who would change something that they may not have wanted to change if they had waited, or something that may not need changing if they'd just give their bodies time to finish developing. I also agree there are some cosmetic surgeries that address health problems that I am fine with.

It´s unethical, because teenagers don´t have their own brain. A girl would see Paris Hilton with a new nose, and she would want a new one too.

I had a friend who´s nose was destroyed by a guy in school so he had to get cosmetic surgery. And what about if they burn their face and they need cosmetic surgery to repair it

It depends completely on the reason.
If someone that young is already trying to change her image for vanity reasons alone, than NO. People don't realize it but there are just as many malpractice errors in cosmetic surgery as there are in medical surgeries, and I believe that if they wait just a couple of years they can fully comprehend the pros & cons of such a surgery, and are better equipped to deal with the results. Plus, teens are constantly growing (some till they are 17,18) and if you mess with your body before its even done maturing you can gets some really messed up looking results.

However, if a child is born with a severe deformation or suffers some sort of horrific injury that can be corrected via cosmetic surgery before he/she fully matures, than YES.

Really, I couldn't give a shit. If they want to screw their bodies up, so be it. It's their right, and it's their choice.

I'll say what people have said above: If it is purely for reasons to look better/sexier/beautiful, than no. You never know what you will look like for one thing. Also, some surgeries, like breast implants, can cause very big problems later in life. If it is for a health reason, or some kind of deformity that would make it harder to live, than yes. This includes but is not limited to cleft palate, burns, major scarring, or some other kind of deformity.

unless absolutly necessary for health reasons it is completly in my opinon unethical to get plastic surgery for teenagers mainly but really for everyone i believe you should be happy with the body you got and not try to change it i hope i don't offend anyone but i honestly think it is sad to see people get surgery because they are unhappy with their body is just plain sad like renrae said if you have burns or a cleft palate or other deformity then its understandable but i can't agree that it is okay to get plastic surgery because you don't like your nose size or the wrinkles in your face or other problems that don't effect your life
