'The Shoop Shoop Song' has been playing in my head all ngày ever since I saw the Kiss in 3x19, so I thought I would adapt it slightly for DE. It's an old song that I'm not sure many DE shippers will know: link In the song, Cher sings that instead of going bởi how a guy acts hoặc looks, both of which can be unreliable, the only way bạn can truly know if he loves bạn is bởi his kiss: "If it's love, if it really is, it's there in his kiss." I think this is definitely true for Delena in 3x19.

Elena tells Stefan in the pilot that she breaks up with Matt because it wasn't "passionate". Now, if there are any Stelena/multi-shippers đọc this, I hope you'll forgive me for saying it but...Stelena weren't exactly super-charged with passion and excitement either.
Shortly after 3x14/15 aired, I remember coming across a bình luận on a TVD diễn đàn from someone who đã đưa ý kiến they couldn't imagine Elena being at all passionate with Damon after the Damon/Rebekah sex scene. My response? "That's because she's with the wrong guy." I don't think Stelena have had a Kiss to rival hoặc equal the one DE had in 3x19. I think the only thing that comes close to it is the Damon/Katherine Kiss in 2x01, but I wasn't emotionally engaged in it at all, so it didn't mean anything to me. Delena were absolutely phenomenal in this episode, and their Kiss was so raw, passionate and scorching, that it jumped off the screen and practically hit bạn in the face and knocked bạn out.

Were there some parallels to 3x10 in 3x19? In 3x10 "We're holding on...and letting go" (perhaps a reference to "It's right, it's just not right now"), and Damon walks away from Elena, then changes his mind, goes back and kisses her. In 3x19, the song playing during the first part of the Kiss is "Never Let Me Go" bởi Florence And The Machine, and Elena runs out of the room. Damon follows her but hangs back, then she runs back to Damon and kisses him. Before this moment, Elena is clearly struggling with her feelings for Damon. In the motel room from the intense way she's staring at him and when he's lying tiếp theo to her on the bed, she's really trying to rein her feelings in. When their hands touch, that in itself is too much for her, and she gets up and leaves the room. But she can't hide hoặc fight what's in her tim, trái tim anymore, and she kisses him. But when Jeremy interrupts them, Elena comes back down to earth with a bump, and here's when it gets complicated. Elena has apparently gone on this road trip on her own personal quest - to figure out if she has unresolved feelings for Damon. But when he asks her outright "Do you?" she các câu trả lời "I don't know." Can I say here and now that I don't believe that Elena's feelings are the issue here. The real issue is: when she finally tells the truth and says yes, and wants to explore the idea of having a relationship with Damon, then what does that mean for her được trao how much she knows about him? Pair her doubts with the judging panel of her closest Những người bạn and relatives she knows will disapprove: Alaric, Jeremy, Caroline, possibly Bonnie - and it's little wonder that she can't acknowledge the truth yet. Asking Stefan to the decade dance in 3x20 (at Caroline's suggestion), looks thêm and thêm like a last-ditch attempt on Elena's part to see if she can salvage her relationship with Stefan and thus spare her the decision she knows she has to make. Personally, I am not worried about Stelena in the tiếp theo episode. Stefan knows Elena is in tình yêu with Damon, Elena sure knows she's in tình yêu with Damon, even if she can't own up to it, and I would be beyond amazed if SE got back together in these circumstances. Stefan and Stelena are appealing in that 'first love' kind of way, but if bạn look at this season objectively, bạn can see that Elena's journey has been leading to Damon, even as she's fought to remain constant to Stefan. It's inevitable that she will always tình yêu him, and that SE will always be a feature of the show, but it's Damon, not Stefan, who will have the biggest, life-enhancing impact on her. Stefan may always be 'good' for Elena, but it's Damon who will change her life forever.

They are showing us even more than we actually see. What Rose said, was written, as everything else, by TVD writers. It's not there for nothing. It's not there only for Jeremy to understand Delena, it's there for every fan that said that never got delena relacionship, to finally realize what they have. ''Stefan will always be good for her''- Stefan is a safe choice. The middle, someone she'll always have, no matter what. Damon is the edge, the end. Best or the worst, it's up to the two of them. I think she's lying to herself when she said ''I don't know(what I'm feeling).'' I think she knows very well, but she's afraid to take that road of happiness/doom with Damon. It's a huge risk for her. Is it worth it? That's the thing. Elena is not deciding between Damon and Stefan, not this time. She's deciding should she give a chance to Damon or not? & after that, there's Stefan, ''the safe choice''. ''if you look at this season objectively, you can see that Elena's journey has been leading to Damon..'' - correct! I don't think she could/will choose Stefan at the end of 3x22, after this season. I don't think that's an option anymore. She will choose Damon or no one, I'm shure of it. But if she decides to stay alone, what's the difference between ''alone Elena'' in 3x22, and ''Elena from the whole season 3''? She's alone this whole season. If that's her choice at 3x22, to stay alone, is she actually changing anything? No, then we'll still have the same delena/stelena drama. I Ian's spoiler, about ''touching delena scene in 3x22'', and ''there's a prespective of what DE gone trough since the pilot'', so that's, for me at least, screaming DE. delenasalvatore IvanaDyP, I love reading people's comments, I actually like it when people write a lot because it shows they're really into it. Yes, Stefan is the safe choice, the one who will always be good for her but not necessarily the best. Like you said, he's in the middle, but that's nothing extraordinary or amazing. Damon is the best or the worst, and there's a lot of power in that because it means he could actually be better than Stefan. He could be the best for her. I used to be certain that the finale would end with Elena choosing to be alone, but I don't think that anymore. She's choosing to be alone now, so...you're right, there's nothing different about her choice in the finale and where she is now. It seems to me that the finale hangs on her taking some decisive action for once. I read a comment from a very disgruntled Damon fan who was speculating about Elena's choice, and he/she didn't think there was any good outcome, because if Elena chose Damon then she would just mess around with him and break his heart. But as we've seen, Damon isn't going to let her do that. There would be no point in just derailing the triangle again by having Elena decide to be alone would there? The writers are risking turning the whole story into a farce if they did that. There are already a lot of fans who are fed-up and think it's taking too long. I can't see the finale ending with Elena choosing to be alone, unless it's taken out of her hands by someone like Klaus, because the triangle doesn't reach a resolution, and it badly needs one for Season 3 to be complete.

eve_k "Stefan may always be 'good' for Elena, but it's Damon who will change her life forever."Spot on!!!!!Excellent article as always!!!!.I was one of the huge supporters of the idea that Elena should choose to be with Stefan at season 3 finale,even suppported that idea in articles.But after 3x19,I am not sure any more...How can she do that after that kiss?She'll just admitt that she loves Damon but has to give Stefan another chance?After that kiss that does not seem like a valid reason any more.Would she not want to see if things can work out with the only man that made her feel so alive?Elena at the kiss scene is the most free and alive Elena we have seen for 3 seasons.Even with Stefan the "love of her life" she was always holding something back.Here she held nothing back.Another option is that Damon pushes her to Stefan which he indirectly said he won't do(loved Damon's speech by the way.It was high time he stood up and defend himself.)The way things have developed she will either end up alone,or either Damon.Either she will choose to ignore everyone and everything and do what she trully wants like in 3x19,her look when she decided to give in to her feelings was priceless,or she will admitt that she loves Damon but doesn't want to come between him and Stefan.Either way S4 is going to be really interesting.I really want to see how the writers are going to explore either option.

delenasalvatore Thanks for your comments everyone. @eve_k, I agree. Elena's return to Stefan looks highly unlikely at this point. I think she will say she loves Damon in the finale and choose to give a relationship with him a proper go, or she will say she loves Damon but something happens to get in the way so she ends up alone. Like, Klaus threatens the people she loves, so she leaves Mystic Falls with him to protect them or something. But we should get a romantic confession from her by the season's end, definitely. They can't wind up the season with her picking Stefan again or choosing no-one, because it would look unfinished and the triangle would be unresolved.

I totally agree with you about that one, after there are only 4 options : - going back with Stefan will stupid after a spending a whole season building up Delena. - choosing to be by herself : as much as I like the idea of Elena being on her own for a while, this is way too predictable and cliché for the show. I mean, almost every other triangle on tv has done the "the heroine choose none of them to keep the suspense of the triangle" and Delena (well TVD in general) is about surprising us. Unless they give Elena an excellent reason to choose this option (no idea of what it could be), I don't think it'll happen. - Elena choose Damon and that's it : lol, like the writers will make it that easy, while there's 3 other seasons after this finale. Which leave us your option, Elena lets the viewers (and Damon, or someone close to her ?)know she wants Damon but there's a bump in the road and they can't be together (well, at least for a while, until they found a way to overcome the obstacle, and they will, they always do ^^). Right now I'm thinking being turn into a vampire and force to run away since she would be useless to Klaus. But with this show you can never guess.

jenay Thanks for the fantastic and refreshing article you have written.It's so nice to read something that gives both aspects of the triangle rather then just one or the other.I have always said that Elena's decision will be based more on what other's think of Damon rather then the "I don't know how I feel" because she does know how she feels.Her friends know how she feels because she has admitted to them in more then one episode that she is in love with 2 vampires. I think that she is also afraid of hurting one of them.In some ways she feels she will be betraying Stefan.I look forward to the episodes ahead.
