^ Agreed. I love them so much! Especially when at the wedding we see Moses looking at Tzipporah adoringly and it's just so sweet!

I always really liked the "fiery woman with the mellow man" types of couples, I guess just because I like defying convention. Usually people prefer women to be meek and demure, and the men to take charge. I like when women can be more assertive and outspoken and the guy is okay with it--nay, attracted to her for it.

^ I feel that way a lot of the time too. It's kind of why I like Hiccup x Astrid so much.

I feel bad for saying this but...a lot of it doesn't work for me?

It's such a background element to the story - the real focus is on the tension between Moses' nostalgia for Rameses and his past on one hand, and the growing ties to his siblings and to God (and all the obligations that come with those) on the other. Romance isn't the point, so their relationship doesn't get much development imo.

The movie never gets into what draws them to each other. And that's important to do for two people who aren't an obvious match. In a tribe full of guys, why does Tzipporah go for Moses? It's great that he's not an asshole anymore, but that's also a super low bar to clear tbh - Tzipporah seems like the type to want a love interest to bring a lot more to the table. And what does she do for him? We don't know.

Then her whole personality/animus is just "along for the ride" after they get married and head back to Egypt. We can assume she's part of his support network, which is cool, but having her around doesn't really seem to do much for Moses - throughout the movie he gets more meaningful encouragement from Miriam, Aaron, and even from Tzipporah's own dad than he does from her.

Though I do like that their relationship develops over years instead of being the instalove that happens with a lot of animated couples. And that Moses has to work for it.

I don't like them, I ADORE them! Especially I love how impressed Tzipporah looked after Moses showed he became a humbler man. It's great that she appreciates his humility. I love that Tzipporah doesn't rush to fall in love with him, despite knowing for sure that he is capable of decency. I may overanalyze Tzipporah but it feels like, despite being so feisty, she has a mature, wise and observant side. They are the answer why I dislike Yao and Mei from Mulan II as a couple: to me it looks Mei overreacted when she was immediately smitten with him before he did anything admirable, dislike "jerkish macho and his excitable fangirl who treats him like God" type of dynamic. Tzipporah values humility and doesn't rush to fall in love and these are my favorite things of her.
