Your cousin's chickens must be strange birds indeed. I frequently have conversations with my own chickens, and they are far more concerned with eating other living/non-living objects (moths, flies, beetles, spiders, worms, voles, frogs, toads, my feet, the dog, their own eggs, our food etc) than whether or not they shall be eaten themselves. They very nearly ate a chicken nugget once.
