Lord-Voldemort - Remember Hermione was dueling Bellatrix using Bella's wand, which wouldn't want to fight against it's master, and therefore wouldn't work properly against Bella. Wandlore is complicated stuff. Not to mention Hermione is the smartest/most skilled witch of her age.
