Are we at the ground floor of the end of religion and the start of a dominant secular society? Although the decline of belief in America is evident, the country still remains largely religious. 80% of Americans believe in a personal god. I see small glimpses of true secularism and atheistic movements chipping away at religious institutions and thought. We can see what the future of a true secular and atheist society will look like bởi observing the leaders, social media, and local atheist communities. The fear and skepticism of atheists bởi the faithful still remains to be a roadblock to progress,...

I know that this will probably anger some people, but this was just to good to pass up. These are word for word passages from the bible. There is proof in the bible that zombies are coming.

Zechariah 14:12

12And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

sounds a lot like zombies doesn't it? Many people take the bible as the truth, and also see it as a book of prophecy....

So I'm 15, and already I have discovered the sad truth of the world, people hate others. Sure bạn may be thinking, "Duh! Of course people hate people! What are bạn stupid?" But, what I mean is that they HATE me cuz of something I believe in, and I am only 15. 15 and people want me dead hoặc thrown out of America, hoặc they want me to be converted hoặc a slave hoặc whatever. I am 15 years old, 15 and people my age want me dead because I'm atheist.

Apparently because of my lack of religion, I am a cold, heartless, soulless person. I am cruel and emotionless, and all opinions I have are false. 13 years...

Credit: This is not mine, I got it from iambilly.wordpress.com, and thought it was interesting and kind of funny.

"As I was leaving work today, I noticed an older woman sitting alone. She sat on one of those walker/stools which have become quite popular. I thought it odd as the park was closed. So I stopped to ask, “Are bạn waiting for a ride?”

She smiled at me and, in a beautiful North Carolina Piedmont accent, replied. “Oh, yes. My husband and I parked at the mall and he just walked over to get the car. So I hope he’s picking me up.”

I thought for a moment and realized that there may...

I had often heard people say that not believing in god requires the same amount of faith as believing.
After that, I was mostly feeling outraged. But it got me thinking. I decided that there is something wrong with equalizing atheism with religion, but not in the way I thought before.

Let me explain.

Atheism - god(s) doesn't (don't) exist
Theism - god(s) does (do) exist

At this point, atheism and theism have made the same number of assumptions about the universe (given that there is no evidence of either).
I can already see some of the believers all smug: "Aha, so not believing requires the same...

Okay. I resently joined this club. Before I start I would like to say that I HATE 'god' and Christinaty and all of it's insane(only insane) followers who think us normal people should respect their little imaginary freind.

I looked through some images, most of them had nice comments...but after I saw a few...I saw some CHRISTIANS bình luận on how angry they were hoặc how they want to 'spread the word'.

All I want to Lời khuyên bạn Atheists is:
Don't reply to them, hoặc if bạn reply just say '@[username]Get out, this spot ain't for you.', bạn know what they say, 'silence is golden'.

And all I want to tell...

Recently, I embarked on the exciting, educational quest of đọc the Bible from start to finish As of right now, I’m still on the Genesis-read, no further than page fifteen, and already I feel a rant coming on, which is presumably just the first of many that I‘ll feel the urge to write while đọc the Bible. Basically, the first major things that both bugged me, intrigued me, and didn’t seem to add up was the incest factor. Without further ado, I present Bible rants, part one!

Incest. Sure it is a different time period and stuff, but really, has it EVER been acceptable to marry and...

Can I still be SPIRITUAL without religion?

Some people don't understand how one can have spirituality without a belief in a god but the two do not need to be related. Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, is considered to be one of the most spiritual figures in human history. Buddha never expressed hoặc supported a belief in a god. He even discouraged his followers from such speculation, preferring that they work on their salvation in this world.

Spirituality is the sense of feeling connected to everything around us in a way that is beyond our human understandings. One can recognize the mystery and...

1)You are not supporting all of the attacks on personal freedom and harm that comes with supporting the Bible as an infallible nguồn of truth.

2)You are free to explore the Universe's TRUE beauty and mysteries, even when it contradicts ancient mythology. The grandeur of the universe is far beyond the imagination of any religion.

3)You are free to learn your true origins and connection to the universe.

Questioning The Gods.

It is important for us, for the sake of the develpment of humanity, to câu hỏi what we are told. For if we do not, we become conformists. Dumb, lazy, easily fooled conformists in a totalitarian world of oppression. To câu hỏi is to form individual thoughts and opinions, to stray away from the herd of sheeple. When it comes to God, it is also important that we câu hỏi him.

In the schools, despite religion being a controvercial topic, teachers still continue to make references to their Judeo-Christian god and give their realities to their students. These children have...

One thing that we can observe in religion is that it gains strength in numbers and the thêm people surround themselves with like-minded people who are true believers of the supernatural, the thêm affirmation an individual gains about their beliefs. Every major organized religion thrives on selling fairy tales about what happens when bạn die and how life began. They sell this product well because it is a product that humans have been trying to obtain since the earliest civilizations. Like any business, religion focuses on a module that reaches an end result of gaining and keeping customers so...

I'm not sure whether to tell bạn my emidiate feeling when I meet an Athiest, because it's probably the most patronising, horrible thing for me to feel in their eyes, but I honestly can't help how I feel. Please don't kill me, because I AM awear that the stuff I say can sound patronising, I just don't know how else to say it... If I ask bạn for one thing it's that bạn DON'T read this trying to look for an argument, hoặc for fault, hoặc to oppose it completely - but that bạn have an open mind.

I don't want to convert you. bạn have free will for a reason and you've chosen not to believe - but I want...

A few weeks cách đây at my workplace I was approached bởi a very visible, though homeless, religious man. He asked me if I were religious in which I replied with a nonchalant "No."

From there it seemed as if all hell was breaking loose. He started badgering me and saying that because I was baptized as a small child I'm ultimately "damned to Hell" for my "families mistakes".

Perhaps I should have just upped and walked away.. but for one, I was never in this particular situation, and since he was a paying customer, I sort of felt compelled to put up with his bullshit because I didn't want him to cause...

Q2. Was your upbringing religious? If so, what tradition?

Q4. What scientific endeavour really excites you?

I am an atheist... but this song rocks.

I'm not quite myself these days
Guess we all come undone time to time in different ways
Well, I have myself to blame
Guess I don't understand I need help in many ways

God's got a plan for me W
ell, I'm gonna tell bạn one thing
I don't got the patience hoặc the time
What can I say? I'm no Angel
I'm not forsaken but I can bleed

Tear me open, I believe
God will set bạn up to bleed
And no one can deceive what is meant to be
And "Bloody murder" we will scream

Well, I guess it's time for me
Tell me what I'm left to believe in
'Cause I don't know the concept of the...

So this is super ranty and probably rambly to boot. I just feel the need to get a few things off my chest.

We've all probably seen posts on the internet to the effect that if Bibles were allowed in school we'd have fewer people in prisons.

I'm always flabbergasted at the blatant ignorance of this statement.

Firstly, Bibles are allowed in schools, they just aren't a part of the lesson plan. Students are free to bring their Bibles from home. Teachers are not allowed to lead prayers but students are free to pray if they so choose. And this is how it should be. Not everyone has the same beliefs and...

The purpose of this blog is to speak openly and honestly about the undeniable truth of the lack of truth in life after death. First, it is necessary to explore the common misconceptions about life, its purpose and the truth of its end bởi people of faith. It is also important to find truth in both the unmoved convictions of those people of faith concerning the lives and thoughts of those who do not share the opinion that a creator exists.
We can all be in agreement that the human experience is individually unique while at the same time uniquely similar. We can all conclude that whatever one...
