season 6 premiere, FX released several promos specifically meant to throw fans off the scent of the new installment’s theme. Following Wednesday night’s season premiere — which was framed as a true-crime docuseries called

— the network has released a new promo that previews the insanity that’s yet to come.

Based on the trailer, it seems as though season 6 will have shades of the murder house-focused first season. After moving into a farmhouse in North Carolina, Shelby (Sarah Paulson) and Matt (Cuba Gooding Jr.) will be terrorized by a knife-wielding Kathy Bathes.

“This place is mine. I protect this place. I shall stop at nothing to hold safe this colony,” threatens Bates in the promo. However, Shelby and Matt won’t be going down without a fight.
