Lời khuyên maybe?

So, there's this guy at my school who is SUPER popular. Almost all of the girls at my school hươu con, nâu vàng, fawn over him and completely throw themselves at him... and I admit it, I understand why. I mean, he isn't bad-looking and he's amazing at singing.
My best friend thinks that he likes me which I guess sort of got me interested in him. I've known him since the seventh grade, and now it's freshman năm and he's still as được ưa chuộng as ever. I always thought he was a douche now... but I guess I like him like all the other girls in my school.
But anyway, I'm wondering if what my friend is saying is true... She says he looks at me a lot, and gets really quiet whenever I talk near him, but I swear to God he hates me. He sits right tiếp theo to me in English (and my best friend sits behind me) and he talks to EVERYONE ELSE AROUND US BUT ME. Including my best friend. I am seriously the only person he DOESN'T TALK TO in English that he sits near.
I've also caught him staring at me at lunch, and his được ưa chuộng 'posse' would look back at me and laugh at him. I've never really seen him get red hoặc anything, but he has gotten pretty quiet and sheepish around me sometimes. He's usually a quiet person though, so I guess that's just how he is. My friend also mentioned he gets pretty 'smug' whenever we do talk, and I guess he's just proud that he's gotten another girl in school to fall for him. But I don't know if that's true since he never talks to me in English, now that I sit RIGHT tiếp theo to him. Before I sat in front of one girl who sat tiếp theo to him who would always start the conversations and we'd be able to talk then. But now since I sit RIGHT tiếp theo TO HIM, he doesn't talk at all.

So... is my best friend right? Does he like me? hoặc is he just a player? (he probably is, but I guess that's my judgment. But I could be wrong. Who knows?)
